Yup, it works with 16gb sandisk microSDHC, class 4. The transfer speed is really amazing. 20s for 200mb.

Is this product compatible with 16gb microsdhc? I called up asus, the staff explained that 8gb microsdhc had been officially tested with p552w, but not for 16gb yet; they went on to elaborate that the are no complains about the 16gb microdchc so far.

Has anyone attempted using 16gb on this device before? Are there any compatibility issues? A zillion thanks in advance!!!

> In reply to ks @ 2009-03-21 04:41 from UqmCtry these settings to increase battery life.

1. start menu > settings > system > cpu mode > power saving mode

2. start menu > settings > system > external gps > access > disable manage gps automatically

3. do a google search and download no data. or you can go to this link : http://www.modaco.com/content/...lity-nodata/

4. also try changing some values in registry.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms]
Default value type and value are
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1
Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Irsir1\Parms]
Default value type and value are
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1
Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\PPTP1\Parms]
Default value type and value are
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1
Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\L2TP1\Parms]
Default value type and value are

Change to
“DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0

hope this helps.

> In reply to Seth @ 2009-03-10 13:12 from uSPxI bought ASUS P552W in March 2009 very recently from KL. I could not use much of it's features till date. The reason is the battery life is very very poor. The battery charge level comes down to 20% level from 100% level in a few hours time and in that period I use it for phone calls only say total of 10 minutes. I have adjusted the setting such as brightness, auto back light off etc but to avail. I took it to the shop where i bought it from but they are clueless. I have observed the phon eto be a little warm to touch. I fear battery is being consumed internally without any output. Please let me know how to reduce the battery consumption as per your experience

@ onerror

haven't used gps that much. wireless connections consume a considerable amount of battery life. only used gps for less than an hour. it consumed 15% of battery life. wifi connection last for about 6 hours. i use it when browsing and when listening to internet radio. This pocket pc is a good buy, in my opinion. And is much cheaper than an htc diamond, but didn't compromise on quality features. If you have any more questions, just post it on this site. Thanks.

This is a great phone. Best I've ever had. Before, had problems with battery life when watching movies. Then tried installing xcpuscalar to underclock the processor. My p552w is now clocked at 400mhz. I can clock it even lower if I want to. I can get 4 days battery life with my current settings with normal use and an average of 10 minutes of calls per day. Now I can watch 3 full movies in a row using coreplayer, full backlight settings and volume at 100%.

> In reply to Skyp @ 2009-02-11 18:29 from 3ceSLast moth i also buy Asus P552W phone. I m very happy with its perforamnce.

This device equipped with a very powerful Marvell Tavor 624MHz CPU promising super fast performance and with sleek and slim design, looks like ASUS has product that promises to be a winner among people.
It comes in black or white color. The unit I got was white in color. The body of it is shiny. So, it picks up fingerprints pretty easily. On the left side, you can find the volume button, GPS antenna. On the top, you can find the power button.

On the bottom, you will soft-reset hole, standard mini-USB port and microphone. On the right side, you will find the camera button and lock switch.Nice and simple. The back of the unit contains the camera and speaker.

On the bottom, you will soft-reset hole, standard mini-USB port and microphone. On the right side, you will find the camera button and lock switch.Nice and simple. The back of the unit contains the camera and speaker.

This is where this device truely shines! I used the HTC DIAMOND and ASUS P552W together and felt how slow the Diamond is! The Diamond is not equipped with a slow processor at all (Qualcomm 528MHz). The ASUS P552W comes with Marvell 624MHz processor. Let the benchmarks do the justice.

The battery capacity is 1100mAh.The battery life is great. You should get 2 days of good usage.

The device comes with 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM. After a fresh hard-reset, you get around 60MB of free RAM.

The reception is descent. The quality is speaker is great and sound pretty loud with little bass too.

It is a basic 2MP camera. It works fine for web pictures. Nothing much to talk about the camera.

In this comepitive world, powerful hardware is very important. But, software part cannot be ignorred. The ASUS has done
quite a commendable job of giving some good compeititon to the HTC’s TouchFlo3D. The ASUS calls this interface as Glide.

What I liked:
Speedy processor
Very Light and compact
Fits in hand easily
HSDPA, UMTS ready
Decent RAM, ROM
Glide interface
micro-SDHC support
Great build quality
Cheap - 22,900/-

I really love this phone. Better than my HTC TyTn2. The build is very solid and no chances of paint fading. Performance is way faster than my previos ppc. I get to play warcraft 2 and age of empires in full screen with no slow downs. Definitely a bang for the buck.
