All in all it's a good phone, but mobile network connection issue lower its value very very much >: (
Despite good reception, people calling me hear that I'm offline or switched off, or faulty connection, etc. Some friends think that I added them to a blacklist ))
You may google it, if you want, there is enough discussions of this problem. And it doesn't depend on your country nor provider.
Shamefully Asus doesn't bother with fixing this, which is main factor for avoiding this brand next time.

I bought this phone in May 2015, so I've had it for 2 years. This has been an amazingly great phone, for an amazing price. Like any electronics, sometimes you get a lemon. I've had absolutely no issues with this phone, the battery is still holding a charge for a long time. I use the phone a lot for Internet stuff like Facebook, Instagram, e-mails, map, music and pictures, plus texting. Very little for, you know, talking.
Some of the pictures I've taken with this phone were quite fantastic and impressive.
The stock Android wasn't great, it was painful to get Marshmallow, but since then it's been an even better phone. I use the Google launcher, not the ZenUI, and that made the whole experience even nicer and smoother.
After 2 years, I'm tired of the curved back, I want something slimmer and more stylish. Yes, this is all plastics but you know what, it doesn't feel cheap, and it doesn't break just looking at it... like those with glass backs (ZenFone 3?)...
Do not buy this phone, while it provided a lot of power (as of 2016), it is all plastic. Within months, speaker failed, power button soldered onto mainboard failed. Poor quality.
Bought that phone because it has dual sim, large screen, and Asus is a famous company for computer hardware. It's totally wrong.
After used for few months, problems issued (1) Phone halted almost everyday, (2) Phone suddenly turn offed. (3) Although it's dual sim, the second sim only has 2g. If you are using AT&T 2g network has been shut down, it's useless.
Search on Google, you will found problems (1) and (2) on that phone.
Never buy any cell phone from Asus again.

My dad have a same issue too before. First service only stays for 2 days and the issue came back and then he toss his phone until it went black and send it to the bigger official central service, he tell them to change everything that seems error because he just bought it for 2 months. Now everything's nice and fine
Plsssss dont buy this fone

Repo, 29 Apr 2017Hi, someone know if it got the possibility of been upgraded to 6.0 (Marshmallow)? I\'m thinkin... moreYes, we have the official M update but not yet the Nougat (we don't know if Asus will update this model).
Hi, someone know if it got the possibility of been upgraded to 6.0 (Marshmallow)? I\'m thinking between it and the BLU Life One X2. Thanks
Harry, 27 Apr 2017From where did you buy the display? I need one tooon Ebay (with a chinese seller). The shipping was very long: almost 2 months to get my package...

this phone is volte or lte support?
Does anyone own ZE551ML with batch production around Serial Number F8AZFG 00F789 and having issue? Was thinking Asus are dumping problem unit selling at discounted price.
The issue of flickering screen: ww.youtube.com/watch?v=Az0c5ucpTmM
Got my US variant (ZE551ML - Z3560/2GB/16GB) for 2 years now. Few months ago a side of my touchscreen was dead so I bought a new screen (20 bucks) and replaced it myself. I also took the official cover and the fast charger which was not included with my model.
This a good phone except to the camera (very average) and maybe its weight. The battery is okay (1 to 1.5 days in normal use). The only thing to do to be sure that the battery is correctly calibrated is to complete a wipe cache (with the recovery mode).
Last thing to know. Unfortunately, the ZE551ML is no longer really updated by ASUS. It's because this model uses the Intel chipset (which stopped the support and development). So no VoLTE activation and probably no official Android N. Hope that the LineageOS community will release a stable version for us.
I'm not really angry against ASUS but I'm a little bit disappointed by the lack of communication.
Love this phone! Its is more powerful than my laptop and only paid $249. I've had it for two years, dropped it many times with the really minimalist bumper case.
It's my mistake to buy this phone, this phone is only good for 3-5 months, after that the "sickness" comes what makes it's super annoying is the ghost touch. I'm watching videos and it started to press the next button over and over again by itself. Please ASUS!! show you care about your customer!! Or maybe you should just stick to the motherboards, your motherboards are good
this is the first mobile phone that lasted 2 years with me and i am still using this phone. with a tempered glass protector and a bumper/case its a sturdy phone. the phone is not for heavy gaming like NBA, but is good enough for casual games. After 2 years of service it's now experiencing ghost movements/unresponsive screen where in i need to hit on the on/off button to fix. I guess this is caused by build up on the cache/ram as i rarely switch off or restart my phone (sometimes weeks without switching it off). This phone served me well.

Seriously though, too many trolls here.
If you get clumsy (dropped it, spilled coffee on it, etc) or lend your phone to a young sibling or a young child and it got damaged its not the manufacturer's fault.
Besides, I've been using it for almost 2 years and i dropped it from my bed/table/pocket/hand slipped quite often, performance is still unaffected.
Also, you might wanna check the genuity of your device, there are some apps that can help you.
I don't get paid to say all of this.
Im just a fan of an affordable-good/high performing device
and a happy customer.
after less than 1 year it started crashing.. every once in a while in needs a restart (wifi no longer working or bluetooth). crashes once or twice a week
