amitkk, 05 Nov 2014yes but i think main thing is the idea of putting an intel processor in a smartphone with 2110... moreI agree. It looks like the battery builds limits to experience intel atom cpus' capability.
uttam, 05 Nov 2014Please any one can tell me how to connect my zenfone5 with my computer? Connect your Zenfone using the data cable to the computer. Go to settings and open storage. On top right corner, you can find a USB icon, clicking on which you will get the options to connect to the computer :)
everything is fine except the battery.
if you are using whats app the battery wont last 3 forth of a day and if you are using navigation the phone will get very hot and the entire battery will be drained out within less than 40 minutes. pricing is very good but always carry a power source otherwise you wont be able to enjoy this phone. also the speaker of this phone is below substandard and that can be managed by using a headphone but the battery - NO SOLUTION -
I am having the greatest time using this phone. My previous unit was a Huawei Y300, though, which accounts for a great leap in specifications, and explains perhaps why I find this phone so fast and responsive, ha ha. I'm still on 184.108.40.206 firmware though, and I have no wish to upgrade to KitKat. And it's good that the phone doesn't detect any OTA updates, because it's working so fine for me now, that I'm glad I'm not being "tempted" to update via a system update notification, and risk suffering some of the bugs that plenty of other users are experiencing. Great pricing by Asus, too, and it couldn't have come at a better time. I was in the market for a new phone, and I'm glad I purchased this one.
I almost missed out, though, since supplies of the Zenfone 5 here in my country (Philippines) constantly run out. It's probably because other phones in the same price category are 99% of the time "under-powered" when compared to this one.
chiz curls, 05 Nov 2014thanks, how about turning off google play music? i also see it on running apps, did you turn i... moreyou can turn google play music as well. just dont turn off any system services or messaging apps or else you

chiz curls, 05 Nov 2014do you think it is because google didn't provide an optimization for intel atom cpus?yes but i think main thing is the idea of putting an intel processor in a smartphone with 2110 mah battery is wrong. . that processor is a huge battery eater. any simple task like whatsapp is enough to drain the battery
amitkk, 05 Nov 2014the problem with this phone is that it takes effort to find out what really is eating your bat... moredo you think it is because google didn't provide an optimization for intel atom cpus?
Please any one can tell me how to connect my zenfone5 with my computer?
amitkk, 05 Nov 2014yesthanks, how about turning off google play music? i also see it on running apps, did you turn it all off?
shaaaaa, 05 Nov 2014i cant connect my phone with pc,plz help guyswhat problem are you facing?
the problem with this phone is that it takes effort to find out what really is eating your battery, its a shame that we have to disable google services because they are not such a big deal on many other devices ..yes they drain the battery but not by a big margin, problem is these services drain more battery on this phone because of the way this phone runs it, only downside of this phone is that when it runs a service or app, then it uses a great deal of power as compared to other devices so even one service running in background is enough for battery drain...
Overall its good deal in this price range.
Its Android OS is more user friendly:
You could type numeric and alphabets at a time without changing mode.
Search option is available for finding any application.
Touch is smooth.
Camera is very slow in capturing photos. Its major drawback.
Flash is not so effective.
Battery capacity should increase. This is common problem in all smartphones.
chiz curls, 05 Nov 2014did you turn off all the permissions of google play sevices?yes
zarul96, 05 Nov 2014How to screenshots?Without drilling into settings and enabling other ways, this is default one - simultaneously press power and volume down button and hold them until you hear a shutter sound.
You can find them in Gallery, under Screenshots folder. After taking screenshot it will also be shown in notification bar at the top. Pull down notifications and tap on it.
Tanveer, 04 Nov 2014Tomazz can u tell when will asus provide 2.20 Update for WW sku?Don't know yet. It's in beta.
bittu1504, 04 Nov 2014Hey..
can anyone please help me out..
m not getting kitkat degradation on my new asus zenfon... moreYou can manually install it - that's been beaten to death if you go a few pages back in this thread.
Else wait for the 2.20 official release for WW phones and OTA install it. We recommend doing a full factory wipe after upgrade to prevent issues with settings migrating to new OS.
amitkk, 04 Nov 2014anyone who wants to stop google play services along with aps ops starter there is another app ... moreGood to know. I just recommended one that I am using myself and works for me.
Hopefully more "known to work" apps would be shared here to give users a backup to what they have when it stops working.
Google is hell bent on shutting all these permission managers off as it's hurting their spying business.
akki, 04 Nov 2014Dear tomazz sir. Please elaborate more on how to access the permission manager for the jellybe... moreYou can download the same app to run in JB.
Some models of the phones no longer support it (like much of Samsungs and Motorolas) but Asus runs it fine on both JB and KK.
JellyBean actually had this software included in the Security group of apps... just can't remember whether Zenfone had it. On Kitkat it has been scrapped.
