I have my asus zenfone 5....its aWesome! The speed of its connection, the features, the camera, all are great!! The kitkat was good then..so far..its gret..thanks to asus for a quality and affordAble phone.
After updating the kitkat ..Phone battery is draining way to fast ..and after updating the phone ..the phone asked for same update and I left it on downloading till 90 percent and when I woke up there's no file downloaded ..
0please need assistance for the same
How to do wipe cache partition and will it help in the problem of battery drainage .
I already did factory reset ..
Ir. Naqif, 22 Oct 2014Factory reset is same like root? It can downgrade firmware or not?No it is not the same.
Rooting requires installing a dedicated rooting software, factory reset is just that - it resets the settings to factory defaults.
You can downgrade a rooted device, but do be aware that any and all warranties are gone the moment you root it.
Asus will refuse to service the phone if you brick it.
My zenfone is rocking from 3 months.Except a few hiccups after Kitkat, there is nothing to dislike about it.Just do a factory reset from droid boot and reinstall every app fresh.Wish everyone's problem will b solved very soon.
Knots, 22 Oct 2014How did you update your phone? through OTA? or manual?I first updated OTA and had many problems including black screen etc. So I did a factory reset through droidboot (pressing power and volume up and selecting factory reset). Most problems went away after that. Later I downloaded the 700 MB complete kit Kat from asus site and did an upgrade through that. Then wiped the cache partition and did another factory reset.
I never have any problem with My Zen 5, it's one of the most amazing smartphones today. Nice interface. User-Friendly features. Fast inet connections! Thank you Asus!

Wipe the cache partition, download the complete kitkat update from asus and update with it and then do a factory reset from the droid boot menu. My zenfone works great now. Battery is a bit low but that's expected with a 5in screen dual SIM high performance device.

The remaining battery was like 55% and then I slept, when I woke up I was surprised to find that my phone was turned off I first thought it was dead on batteries, i tried to open it but it wont, it wont even charge. What should I do?
Tomazz, 21 Oct 2014It would be good if Asus did that, but there are 2 problems. 1) space needed for high capac... morei checked that phone..Nice one but not available in india. Also doesn't suits me, as for me dual sim is must. Zenfone suits me except it's battery during travelling. if i want to watch some videos or use internet or use gps it restricts me to use for a long period. I have to close games after 10-15 minutes to conserve power, but yes i am carrying a power bank now-a-days. Ofcourse Zenui is very good with inbuilt app lock feature, also i like the calling interface very much. All asus applications are built with material design which i liked too. It's touch response is awesome. All applications i use runs smoothly and opens quickly. Now with kitkat they added zoom in animation to display of flip cover view....so many other advantages. These are reasons for which i am still sticking with zenfone.
