Kamal007, 29 Aug 2014Hi @tomazz,can u tell me about the build quality of the phone..... & thickness of the disp... moreThe phone is built well, but I do not want to compare it with any high-end phones.
It's a budget phone, so there are some compromises.
It is using standard Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which you would find on many other brands of phones.
The phone is not very thin, but it fits nicely in the hand, especially in Nillkin protective case, and the side curve makes it look thinner than it really is.
I personally consider it looking more premium than most of Samsung phones. The back ceramic-like plastic does give HTC One-X kind of a feel, and although it's not unibody, it does not look any worse put together than HTC.
There are a few things you need to know - since cover is removable, the buttons are on the cover, and they must match exactly over contacts on the body, which when assembled wrong, they don't. So you must put the buttons side on first.
The camera is on the body and the back plate has a hole, so even a fraction of mm wrong placement demonstrates badly. This was a bad design decision.
USB cable that comes with some phones is not of very high quality, and some people have problems plugging them in the phone. Since other cables work fine, it seems cable, not phone problem.
That's all I can tell you...
A-VED143, 29 Aug 2014what battery do you all have in zenfone 5 is it li-ion (or) li-polymer batteryLithium Polymer.
Abinash, 29 Aug 2014Hi Tomazz, After opening my back cover,on the back side, it is written " input:+5.2v---1.... moreI always used Note 2, 2.5A charger.
That's fine. Oppo VOOC 4.5A charger is not fine.
My zenfone 5 keep shutting down everytime i press the power button. This only happen when my battery is 60% and below. Why? Is it bcause of overheating?
This phone screen is so weak that it has cracked due to short fall from half feet high.
Asus service is also worst asking for very very high price
Only for one crack on upper side below camera they are asking Rs 7000 to replace the screen
My phone is one month old and all are working fine
But it has one crack
Now u can think that asus is fooling us by telling gorilla glass 3
And i only want to advice you that.
1. if you had brought this phone please use carefully as it screen in very weak and if its cracks then you have to pay more than its half of the price
2.And if you had not buyed then think about it and then buy
Otherwise this phone is great in this price
Hi @tomazz,can u tell me about the build quality of the phone..... & thickness of the display glass which is CG 3....some say it is thin,so i want to clarify with u
Hi Tomazz, After opening my back cover,on the back side, it is written " input:+5.2v---1.35A,7W"

Sam-maS, 29 Aug 2014I cant switch on my asus zenfone 5, 8gb.. for any purpose if iam switch off my mobile, or beco... moreSomething wrong with charger? It should charge your phone in ~3 hours from 0 to 100%.
Can you try another cable and another charger or plug it in computer's USB slot (although here charging time would be 2-3x longer)?
But no, that's not normal. I can only think of the charging issues.
I'd contact Asus service centre.

Bt 1 question...
can i wait for t... moreWhen OTA updates are sent to your phone, you can choose not to install them.
When you refuse to install one, it will not ask you to install others, though.
When KitKat is available, you can manually install it.
A-VED143, 29 Aug 2014what does i have to check in settings, these is there on back of my box a501cg,white,,ww-3g,... moreThis is a non-LTE, 3G phone. I don't know why you would have LTE switch in firmware.
Abinash, 29 Aug 2014No you can't coz kitkat restrict permission of sdcard to read-only. So if you want to move ap... moreSome apps can still be moved to SD. In fact many.
It is just that they can only write to the folder on SD card that they created and own. They can't write to other folders.
While this is OK for say Camera - it can write photos into its own folder on SD, it is a problem for a file manager app as although it can read things, it can't write them, or for 3rd party players, editors, which won't be able to write indexes or save changes.
So many of these apps will outright break.
Good news is that the file manager app that came with OS has superuser access, and will be able to write anything to anywhere - so built in file manager will still work, so will OS built in apps that have SU access.
But not apps you install yourself.
Unless you root the phone.
This does not mean you can't move apps to SD. You can. If the apps support that.
Tomazz, 29 Aug 2014Settings, about phone.
