HTC’s VP of product management, Mo Versi revealed on Twitter that Android 5.1 Lollipop for the One M9 for AT&T has been approved by Google. The new firmware has been scheduled to start seeding over-the-air from today onwards.

With Android 5.1, HTC One M9 will get data performance and call drop enhancements. Battery life of the device has also been improved.
Even more importantly, the camera of the HTC One M9 has received a number of optimizations with the update. The temperature management of the device has also been tweaked in order handle that Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset better.
Versi also promised on Twitter that the T-Mobile’s One M9 is on track get Android 5.1 on July 20. The device’s Sprint and Developer Edition variants already received the new firmware.
