i hate this mobile, many problems, the worst of all, is that sometimes people call me, and for them the mobile is ringing, but for me, the mobile is in deep silence, no missed calls, nothing.

i used to believe the mobile and disbelieve people. till i tried it.

what a waste

encountered the same problem as Jun below. finished downloading GPRS code and phone didn't restart. message showed in the XCSDTool was that the device can not be found. redownload again. help please

I have had this phone for almost 3 years and with the exception of the one-day battery life I have almost no complaint. It is powerful enough to smoothly play a full-definition 1.5GB divx movie in widescreen format, a feature that which has saved me from much boredom in waiting rooms, etc. Installing The Core Media Player also makes it a wonderful Ipod substitute. It does absolutely everything I want it to do and because it is a full windows pocketpc I also use it intensively for work and I can synchronize with outlook etc. I wish they would keep making them but with incremental improvements like a slightly better camera and battery. My fear is that if I lose or break it, I will have to switch to an inferior pone because there is no comparable phone that I know of with the same exact form factor and powerful features. Possibly the imate 8502 but how can one get it?

my p50 have the screen all white, i check it works with pocket controller and the phone runs, but the screen is still white, i make all type resets, the touch works too, can somebody help me???

ok I tried this update and it is not going through the whole update it gets stuck at the first part. The error message is: waiting for target ACK.... then: Read data time out!.
What do i do now?

Hello! somebody help me! i did intstalled firmware 1.15eng in my phone. then GPRS downloading completed. but didn't automatic restart! now how to use my phone? tel me please!

Install XCSDTOOL to your PC
Prepare your P50 with full Battery
1. Make sure you already disconnect USB port
2. Unrar all file from download file (P50.rar) password : GgDag for unzip
3. Hold pressing
Power Button
and
use stylus hold pushing reset button 3sec
4. Then release both of the buttons and hold pressing Voice Command button (Above volume button)
5. Hold pressing until the Screen change to blue color with text USB
6. Connect
USB with your PC and
P50 screen will show text
USB connected
7. Open software
XCSDTOOL
8. Click model > P50
9. Click View > Smart phone OS USB Download
10. Click OS EP File Choose file EP111510.bin
11. Click OS Image File Choose file P50111510
12. Click GPRS File Choose file P50111510.mot
13. Click Run
14. You need to hard reset P50 in between when instructed. Watch screen P50 when text show complete download then click OK at your PC
15. After finish 3 file, P50 will automatic reset
16. Enjoy it !!!

This rom upgrade takes about 45 minutes and one distinct change is the call quality is better in clarity & louder.

BenQ may come out with the best WM device but I am not buying another BenQ device ever.

I once needed support and contacted their local office in my country. They refuse to accept my unit for service and suggested that I bring it for service in the country where the device was purchased. Very nice.

So I though I’d wait until they can come out with a solution. Now its 2008 and BenQ did not even bothered fixing the problem of the P50 but released the P51. BenQ, do you really think after the experience we had with the P50 we will go for the P51? Be real and wake up!

Don’t get me wrong I like the device, but the support is just horrible.

Hello can anyone help me upgrade my BenQp50? I already have the XCSD_V1.5.4_L2-CL71-E61 and the Benq P50_ROM_1.15_ENG firmware, as
i follow the steps in upgrading this phone, i came to a point where i must enter the following: OS EP File, OS Image File, and GPRS File. Can anyone tell me which file to choose for every field? I try a couple of options, well it did not work. Help me please

it is original BenQ soft for working with it mobile phones. In the menu select Model - P50, view - smartphone OS usb download, and select files from FW 1.15. What's all =)

All I Can say is that the BenQ P50 is a great and powerfull phone!!!
For some people facing any problem in the benq p50 phone you can e-mail @ mc_14th@yahoo.com me maybe can help you!!!
For others that call this phone a junk i think windows powered phone is not for you!!!

@dinno - tell me? did you insert the sim card on it? did you turn on the wireless on it? there are a lot to consider and i dont believe it if you'll say benq service centers dont know how to fix it. they must give an option or somehow.

i have my phone for a year and a half and it does great to me. thanks..

please if you have a hassle on your phone.. just give it to me. hehehe. i might as well make ways to have it usable. thanks.. hehehe

all i can say is that this phone can still match the power of my other windows mobile phones with just less price. its my collection that's why i can compare.

for others who had a bad idea about this phone, all i can say is this: "buy yourself an ordinary phone" if you dont know what's th use of it. and yeah, just give me your phone since you compare it as a junk phone. hehehe.
