Hi there.I've bought my E71 just a week ago and I think it's great.In spite of its small bugs and errors, the phone is very good for its price.I wanted to download the latest firmware for E71 and was very surprised when I realized that they have closed the web site.I'm running FW 41 and I hope that someone can help and send me the latest FW by e-mail.(May be Paeiijho would help,he seems to be an expert in the field.)And one more question -Is it possible to istall new themes on this phone,'couse I think the available themes are awful. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, i'll try to answer the best i can alright!
1. if you heard the news about the things that's been going on lately, you must know the answer.
but if you don't i'll tell you.
BenQ is decided to close the German division that produce phones that designed purely by Siemens(such as E71,EL71, EF81 and so on) because of the inevitable loss they suffered.
the insolvency team failed to get the qualified investor to save the division, so it's already closed by the end of january this year.
as the result, no more phones from there anymore including the phones i mentioned above, but i believe that they have enough stocks to sell.
2. IMO it's not slow at all, but not so flashy either, acceptable for me.
it's drained quite amount of battery life when i played the pre-installed games.
3. i don't know this one.
4. my E71 was a gift from the generous senior member at Club-Siemens forum, so i get it for free, i only pay the taxes in my country(Indonesia).
the phone itself is built in the already closed factory in Germany.

the shop is reliable, my fellow countryman have bought some SXG75 from there with no problem.
conclusion, i'm very satisfied with this phone, even though it's come with some minor drawbacks.
there's no such a perfect phone anyway.;)
if you a Siemens fan like me, you've got my recommendation to get this beauty.

The features of this phone seems great! This model also seems to have got around some typical Siemens problems. Would love to buy this phone sometime. Can anyone please let me know the following?
1. Is this set still in production?
2. How is the operating speed of this phone? I have CX75 and it is awfully slow for Java apps. Programs take really long to load. How does it score in this area?
3. What processor does it use? What's the clock speed?
4. From which country did you buy it and how much did you pay for it?
If you don't have the answers to all the questions that is fine; please let me know the answer you know. Thanks!

well, sorry for that, but i NEVER experienced such things.
be patience, maybe all you need is firmware upgrade.
unfortunately the download site isn't available anymore for now, could come back later.
but if you want, i can send the latest FW to your e-mail.
or you can do it at the service centre for free, it's still in guarantee right?!

i'v used this fon for 3months. it is USELESS! it always hangs,camera fails,goes of occasionaly!GOSH!i advise u NOT to buy this handset,for your own good.

Beautiful phone, very good for work and entertainment. Large display, addressbook, organiser. Super sound. And possible to improve details by patches :-)
Phone is quick and stable.
I'm sad that Siemens era is over. If they have produced phone like this allways, they would never have problems.

what FW are you running now?
i have no problem with the internet.
could be the sofware(FW/FirmWare) issue/bug.
the newest FW on the official site is FW 42, upgrade your phone might solve the problem.
to take out the SIM card?
simply by sliding it out from the slot.
i find it hard to do it too, use your nail to lift and pull it out.

me again with more problems. Nigel, how do i remove my SIM card? and the fingerprint issue on the dark silver version? fake. it collects fingerprints. but i have to admit. its still a beautiful phone

i have the e71 wonderful phone. i just cannot be able to access internet on it and i have all the settings in place. can anyone help? the website isnt.

To be able to use FM Radio you have to connect the headphones, because the cable of the headphones acts like an FM antenna.
No antenna - no radio, same as in all other mobile phones...

Hey guys, in spite of all that happened with Benq-Siemens... my fingers still can't give in to any other manufacturer's device. can't find any E71 at any shop...

There are only two colors for this phone:
DARK SILVER
ONYX BLACK
The so called "light silver" is some pre-serial production demo model with unfinished coating, which never was produced for final sales. There are only some odd samples of non-finished dark silver units that just because of lack of final coating look like "lite silver"...
SO THERE"S NO SUCH THING AS LIGHT SILVER VERSION OD E71
