Hi everyone,

I got the ef71, just recently and to be honest it's a very nice phone. BUT not perfect. i don't think any phone is. So here's a quick review of the pros and cons.

Pros.
Looks absolutely fantastic! it's up there with the RAZRs. It's not paper thin, but when you hold it in ur hands it feels solid and sexy. Its a really well designed phone.

The screen is also really good, bright and clear. easy to read in the light.

The features of this phone is awesome, fm tuner to play ur mp3s out of ur car radio is handy, webcam, USB. It's pretty feature packed, but there's some cons in regards to the features.

CONS
THE CHARGER does not have a cover!. I'm comparing this to samsung phones where the charging slot may have a cover or rubber cap to stop the dust getting in. The EF71 lacks that and that's really important so that the dust doesn't get in.

The FM tuner is great but the range is pretty poor. The phone basically has to be within max of 50 cm from the radio, before you get inference.

The menu, is a tad slow. i.e when ur going to your phone book of looking for numbers it is tad slower than nokia's and samsungs.

Battery life isn't too bad, but on full power (there's a power saving mode which is really useful!) with about 2-3 hrs call and mp3. you'll need to charge it everyday. But the USB charging is very useful though

Overall, very happy with the buy. it was 450 AUD, from ebay. which is average priced. 7.5/10

Always a big fan of Siemens, never use nokia, ericsson or shit like motorola, because I think Siemens has the most user-friendly interface. I just get this EF71 after my CX75 was stolen and liking it very much. The only drawback is that, eventhough it's pretty user-friendly, it's not as smart as the way the Germans designed the interface on Siemens. I.E.
- If you want to delete multiple SMS, you have to do it one by one, whereas in my old CX75, I can simply mark multiple messages and just one click, I can delete them all at once.
- Also, when you want to add more phone number, you cannot just copy and paste it into existing contact, but instead have to do it manually.
- Writing and sending SMS is not as straight forward as in Siemens, you have to go through multiple procedure, if EF71 cut one or two process, it would be much more simple.
- Previous feature on Siemens, like when you hit the keypad few seconds longer, it would gave you the associated number, but EF71 doesn't have this feature.

BUT.. despite all I like the phone very much. It's has a pretty chic design and overall, the interface is pretty user-friendly compare to other brands like nokia, ericsson or motorola.

Guys could someone write something sensible about the phone's features(e.g quality of its media player) instead of bickering about which brand makes better phones

At the end, why would you care as to whether they copied other phone design?

This phone has an excellent design style.

The disadvantage of BenQSiemens is bluetooth works bad! Once you transfer data(Mp3, video, etc)it comes hang....(I meant you can't transfer file and do another activity at the same time)oh ya, i found this with S88. How about this phone??
