i think the benq siemens is the mini mokia n95 its a slider phone like the nokia n95

Phone looks very cool but gosh i have never come across a phone that freezes so much. I dont hear my calls when the slider is closed and whats up with having to switch on the power after you open the slider, it reads "phone locked pleases turne off" then you have t switch it off and on a again? Am i wrong or is it the phone, somebody help?

in fact the battery has a very short life. there should have been infra red and radio attached to this phone. it has made this phone useless even though it has some few functions such as mp3, blue tooth

I need help bad! What should i download as an update?.. There is a few on them websites & cause i dont understand much about phones i dont wanna download & try install the wrong firmware or patch. I have never had an upgrade to the phone. My hpone is,

I have had this phone for10 months, It has been replaced once and Siemens have re installed software once, but unfortunately it still is as bad as what it was when first bought! It freezes, doesnt tell me messages have arrived, turns on and off by itself and slows down dramatically whilst trying to use the text facility! It seems a lot of us are all experiencing the exact same problem, yet the company arent doing anything to make this better, they are not offering anything in return to compensate for the money we have spent on a phone that we just cant seem to give back and exchange!

One good factor about this phone is it looks good!

You can see the movie full screen. My only beef with this is that if you already started watching a video in its regular setting, and the make it full screen, it will restart the entire video.

i've got it for 2 months right now and it's wonderful! sound quality and display are perfect, even photos aren't so bad;) its construction is very good and it looks better than the preetiest woman:P battery, when you listen to music a lot and when you play games or talk for a long time has to be recharged in about 2-3 days, but when you use it rarely it lasts for about a week or more! with the latest software it is very stabile, doesn't freeze and doesn't turn off without any reason... firstly when I got it, when I was charging the battery for first times sometimes it turned off itself(when I was turning it on after a night on which el71 was turned off), but now it doesn't happen. only thing which emarrased me is that that one day when it was in my pocket this titanium plate on front made a loose, but now it's ok, after some time of keeping it tightly in my hand it repaired itself:)
I really admire this phone and I recommend it to everyone - not only to Siemens' fans, but to all people who are looking for a cheap but superb phone:) greets

My El 71 goes to warranty since 10 february but Benq-siemens is officialy dead, what happens to my phones nobody knows

Mike and anyone who is frustrated with EL71.

Go to GSM Multifund or Siemensmania CZ and register on the sites and download the latest firmware for this phone I have done this for a friend and it has fixed all the problems and the phone is now a very stable phone.

These two sites are great since the Big Bird Brains in the Galaxy stopped supplying firmwares on site.

Thumbs up for this phone if you can get it.

Great build, sound and display.

I will give it 100 percent if you update it.

A very scarce quality built phone.

First off Ive been a fan of siemens phones for years now and went against the poor reviews and bought this phone. Im now regretting it. This phone has put me off siemens for life and i will not buy another one. Everything all previous people have said is true. It turns off for no reason, It freezes alot, It goes so slow when texting and searching through address book it makes it un-useable, sometimes new texts dont get shown and have to got to inbox to notice them, the handsfree blue tooth ability isnt worth having (this could be me using a nokia headset with a siemens though). There are more things wrong with this phone but cant think of them. oo yeh you have to charge it everyday although charge time is very short 2 hours you still have to charge it alot and i dont even use it very much.

On the plus side.... Its very well built. Looks great, screen is very good and fits nicely in the pocket and hand.

Siemens - Im dissappointed

Others dont make the same mistake i did and buy this phone cause it looks good, youll regret it.

Just wanted to post my opinion: unfortunately, after my first enthusiasm of getting this phone, whose design I still admire for its cool and futuristic looks, I sooon got very dissappointed:sometimes it didnt inform me about incoming messages and calls ( i "detected " them by entering directly the menu), it used to freeze, turn off for no reason whatsoever or delivered me text messages one day after. I gave it to the Siemens service, they updated the software, but I still have problems with understanding the person I am talking to( very unconvenient if you are in the city with all the traffic noise around!)- the accoustic is really poor, and I have to charge it evry day!! If I could choose, I d take another phone, which is frustrating because I ve been a Siemens - user for a lot of years now!

I´m wondering, if i should buy one....
I red so many coments, and i would like to ear one that realy speak about the phone...Is it that bad like you all say?
Because i think this is one of the best models ever made by Siemens...

Can anyone help OK so its not the best phone in the world but at leat i could listen to some music on it but know my memory card wont work, ive a 1gig card which work fine for about 3months now when it in the phone it come up unavailble, but it work fine when i slot it in my PC....

this is the best phone i ever had but it broke in the first 2 weeks which was prety stupid but then i got a SE w700i which was nowhere near as good :(

I have bought one lastday. Got with charger,128mb sdmmc,battery,usb cable, software cd and users manuels, its all. Last night I instal the software to my comouter with the CD. When I connected the computer to the handset with usb cable but do not get connection the hand set. I purchase this mobile from BenQ Seimens Corporet head office, Dhaka Bangladesh. Now whays the solutions????????

And why they donot suplly the other accessories.

I bought this phone from the carphone warehouse (uk) and have had it for nearly a year now. box contents=usb cable, headphones, handset and charger.

CONS:
*the first phone i was given froze on its second day then just wouldn't on again so had to swap it. thankfully this hasnt happened again but sometimes it just switches off by itself. if u just wait about a minute then switch it on again it goes back to normal- this isnt a major problem for me but can get annoying.
*the battery cover is a bit loose
*the battery power isnt great-the first phone i had didnt even last a day but i was told with my second one to charge it for about 4 hours when i first got it and it seems to have improved- it now lasts about 2 days
*when im outside, i've noticed that you cant really hear the person on the other end of the phone that well-even on maximised volume

PROS:
*it only takes about 30 mins to charge-quite good compared to other phones
*music quality is really good but u will need a memory card as internal memory is rubbish
*a lot of people have told me that they love the look of the phone
*everything else is great - dont really have any major problems with the phone
