1. my s81 keypad is not responded with normally finger touch. u must push the keypad hard to get it reacted.
2. if i download a file from pc and than i move the file to my s81 via cable data, the file cant be installed on the phone
3. if i received file apllication from other phone via bluetooth, the file cant be installed on the phone

hello, actually i was satisfied with this phone, until yesterday, when my s81 light display off, i tried to turn in off and on, it'll on but the display will stay only for about 30 sec, i still can get the incoming message but when i press any keys it stayed off. what happened with my s81? anyone through this kind of problem before? plz, share, thx.

is there any way connected my S81 as a modem in Vista ? its a new brand, but did not support vista ?

I bought S81 in Turkiye... Approximately 170 USD in here. besides 1GB memory card is gift with together this device. Really nice and very esthetic phone. And I am sure it is very cheap.

This is the wost phone i ever had. I bought one and after a week it started locking all the functions (keypad not responding) after 10 sec of being turned on.I had to take a battery out like million times with no results.I've asked the seller for refund but he sent me the other (brand new too). Same problem appeared after 2 weeks and I 've got stock with it and with no chance of repair due to the benq-siemens bankruptcy.

3 trips to the repair shop and I've only had the phone 3 months. Was sold on phone by a Singtel rep but will stay away from any BenQ/Siemen product going forward.

the comment that this phone sucks isnt true.... it has a good camera, decent screen, and 3G, and its soooo cheap! My friend got it more than a year ago, when it was pretty new, and it costed only about the price of a very basic sony ericsson/nokia!

it has a sleek and pretty exterior but do not let that fool you! why don't the roadside vendors who make and sell handphone cover create any plastic covers for this phone? because they know its a failure and no one is buying it! i have never had to replace a phone because it was working so poorly until this phone! so many things are wrong about it, and it is completely user-UNFRIENDLY, from SMS, to the way information is filed away in your phone. after 3 months of conservative and gentle use, the contact for many buttons has nevertheless become so bad on its own that i had to send it back for servicing! i'm very disappointed with it.

TO harry_d and neoG.... can you send me how to setting the phone to PC to connect with 3G Flash Telkomsel. I dont know how to install the Phone as Modem in my PC ....

to use it as a modem, one should see the extra setting in the modem properties (check in CONTROL PANEL>PHONE AND MODEM OPTIONS>PROPERTIES>ADVANCE)
in the extra initialization command, type:
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","[your operator's APN]"
ex:
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","flash"
"flash" is the APN for indonesia's Telkomsel Flash (GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA) internet service. others must be having one. call your operator.

I have this phone for about 4mths now, it was nice & looking good! Two days ago, I cudn't use it to make calls. At first I thot my phone provider that went dead. Apparently it's the (inner?) speaker that didn't work. I can still use it to make/pick up call using loudspeaker or handsfree. Isn't that annoying? What if I forgot my handsfree? Has anyone here experienced the same problem?

this phone has best price/performance ratio because it is the cheapest 3G/UMTS phone available here in my country (about US$150).
so, if you are a beginner and really want to use the 3G network, you could try this phone.

Got this phone which is a good buy for a 3G model. Love its sleek and slim outlook. The ringtone is very loud, and can set entire mp3 song as sms tone which is great for me.
Cheap and chic phone which don't come along easily.

it makes folder, and it makes better pictures inside with uniform ligh , then outside with (for example)picturing a house with brigh sky. The light overexpose over objects. With uniform ligh, inside and outside the camera it's ok. not the best

For Indonesia people : I think S81 is good phone, despite for some people is not use to it, specialy for SMS. But other than that is good phone. I currectly using it as modem, connecting with Telkomsel Flash, a 3.5G internet broadband connection. It very fast (using 3G connection, up to 300 kbps). overall Im satisfied with the phone.
