Blackberry is also cost effective due to their unlimited data plan.

if you're using a blackberry playbook with a 3g simcard, is it necessary to activate any blackberry pack/services or doest it work like a normal tablet on normal 3g plans......

Considering Business needs and usability this is Best Tablet. Mind it, its not a toy for kids. Very Solid constrution unlike "Plasticy" most Android Tabs. Screen resolution, response, Audio and touch sensitivity is way better then so called market leaders. Whinners will keep whinning but if asking usability and price this is best product. That true that RIM is struggling now a days but who has not is the past? Did Apple not? Was not Motorolla sold? peopl forget that RIM is the company with Zero debt on them. They have Technology which is trusted by Governments(Including US) and Apple Garden still could not invent ISecurity yet. I am on this forum for past 4 years and so far to my experience 80% people who through expert advice on it, have never touched the device. The like to whine and mourn for something that they only experienced in a Electronics Stores for 5 mins untill Sales Agent comes and say 'May I help you'. .and they go NO NO just looking and then like to run away, So Pathetic

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-08-24 14:11 from N9@P - click to readyou are very correct. Some people are already asking me to order for them when in actual fact most of them are living in an EDGE environ so how will they enjoy the cellular feature. my opinion i'd rather stick with the wifi models and use my bridge to do my jobs on it. cellular not it for us for now

I don't think this device will be a good buy for someone living in a remote area. Most places in Nigeria can barely boast of EDGE talk more of a 3G...

Regarding your comment, I disagree. BB OS will never be as customizable as Android, and it was never meant to be. BB is all about security, and it is simply something you cannot guarantee if users have too much access to the inner workings of the OS. That's why for app developers, it is far more difficult to make one work (and approved) for BB OS than android and iOS.

If Samsung does buy RIM then i see no downside to this,I see the OS 2 or OS 10 software on samsung tabs and phones, i see bbms on samsung products and of course the push email tech. Either samsung maintains the name to keep the blackberry market or do' away with it but the mix-up would be great for consumers.

Playbook is great tab, it can operate multi task app so smooth unlike the other tab.. Yes its lack of apps and network 3G/4G that's why they put bridge and now blackberry mobile also update for the hotspot it make easier to use.. Try you will lov it

BlackBerry isn't for everyone but the PlayBook is definitly a good tablet. It has a wondeful layout and the sensitivity of the touch screen is awesome. Blackberry is in the red but they have great potential. So don't count them out yet :P

> In reply to truth speaker @ 2012-08-14 11:48 from fmZA - click to readfine don't buy it, when you want a cell phone for work just let us know because what you want is just an entertainment device you should put your money elsewhere then and go back to playing and just wasting your time with your puny phone...

Blackberry is dying itís unfortunate but itís true, look at the huge leaps Samsung ,HTC and apple have made in the world of mobile hardware.. with quad core processors, insane gaming abilities, apps and much more, bb has pioneered nothing and their phones are dreadfully boring and obsolete, the only thing keeping it alive is bbm which is soon to become something of the past.. so if giving Google my soul means that I can have a phone that is fast fun and sophisticated then fine they can have it coz thatís business im not gana spend my hard earned money on something that I know is not worth a penny just to prove a point.. and I am definitely not going to buy something from blackberry just because I feel sorry for them lol .thats just sad guy. BTW get yourself the Samsung s3 (if you can afford it ) then we can have this chat again
