i have had the same problem with the phone as everyone else. except mine will not power up anymore nor will it connect to the computer to charge. when you ask soemone at t-mobile they act confused and dumbfounded that this would happen and no one else has complained. whatever. i think a class action lawsuit is appropriate. what if your in an emergency situation. you should be able to rely on your cell phone. not with this one. it seems this phone was not troubleshooted correctly before its release. i see that someone has had a good experience witht hte phone. but that is just one in a sea of a million.

My speaker or regular microphone stopped working on my 7100t. It works if I attach a headset to it..... I have read many complaints on the microphone/speaker on this.... Is there a way I can reinitialize this? or is my microphone/speaker broken?

I have the same problem. People sometimes complain that they can't hear me, that I sound distorted. Other than that, the phone is fine.

Add me to the list of suckers. Please avoid this phone/PDA and also avoid t-mobile for allowing this game to continue. They act like this is a new problem and they walk you thru a drawn out procedure of exchanges and wasting of the clients time only to end up with the same problem - a really bad phone

My blackberry 7100t was working one minute and the very next minute it wasn't. It di not fall or in any type of accident. Just stopped working. Not the battery, won't work with the charge. The phone was only 13 months old. Go figure!

And I thought it was just me...lol. I too have experienced the "wind tunnel" complaints about my 7100t. Finally the microphone just died. There is nothing TMobile can do. So sorry it is out of warranty and you did not buy the insurance. However we will give you the same exqact deal as a new customer if you buy a new Blackberry and sign a two year agreement.
Do not buy this phone. However, I am told, with the optional bluetooth earpiece the sound is crystal clear.

This is my 3rd 7100 series phone and I have had the same problems with every one. I bought the 7100T and after having many customers tell me I sounded like I was in a tunnel, I tried to get tomobile to upgrade me. They refused and after much effort, I got the store to agree to upgrade me to the 7105. I am on the 3rd one now as T mobile replaced the 1st 7105 (and wanted to charge $15 for shipping), have spent my nights awake on the phone with techicians, reloading software, pulling the SIM card in and out, being put on another network, etc. etc and the sound quality is still so inferior that people are asking me to call them on a real phone. I have been told by 3 technicians that RIM is trying to find a better microphone but nothing has been done and this will be for a new model so will NOT help the current customers who have the 7105. There is NO PLAN to do anything about this.

I work in support of these devices and they are not bad PDA's but I feel they were not fully meant as phones. The early blackberrys were more phone than PDA. I think part of the problem is a lot of people buy this device and use it for high volume phone traffic. When it really wasn't designed with that functionality. Even though yes sadly it is a phone.

This phone absolutely sucks. I type at 30% my normal rate, the buttons have broken... the sound quality is terrible. Can not believe RIM would create such a device.

I have just gone through my 4th replacment of the 7105t phone...the voice quality stinks!!! I cannot believe they have not recalled these phones...I have run into other users that have the same problem...we should form a group to start a class action law suite! All in favor drop me a line. Put in subject "class action"

The phone distorts, period. My daughter sent the first one back and got another and it distorted as well. Two other family members got one at the same time...and yes, they distort. It is really unbelieveable that this phone still is being sold. If you don't need for the person you are calling to hear you, then this is the phone for you.

After reading the other comments I find that I am not the only one displeased with T-Mobile and their lack of care about the Blackberry 7100t phone they support. The phone is very expensive, but it works worst than my goddaughter's toy cell phone. On top of a slewth of previous problems, my USB port fell out this morning. I was advised that my warranty ended and I would need to purchase another phone. I have checked repair prices and they range from ($70 up). My calls are constantly dropped. So much so, that I have to apologize to my clients for the phone's inability to perform. I have had it! I think it's time to get away from blackberry's and T-mobile all together.

I think the 7100t is a nice phone, however, there is one things I think need to fix in a hurry. Thats, the USB port on the side of the phone. After just over a year of use it came out and now I can't charge or sync the unit. Worse yet, T-Mobile won't fix it after a year. Instead they suggest you upgrade to a (2) year contract for a new on with a $100.00 mail in rebate. Some companies will repair it but this too is not cheap. About ($70.00) and a limited warranty of just (90) days on parts and labor. No one seems to stand to close to the workmanship on this phone when it comes to the USB port. Sad but true...

Great apps and user friendly BUT this phone is a piece of CRAP!!!! I pay $980/month so you can imagine how much I call and text and email and what not.... this phone (after 3-4 months) takes forever to get into the system (after turning off when flying) the phone overheats to the last circuit available, the reception sucks, the microphone sucks (nobody ever hears me talking) the freaking phone now shuts down but itself after 20 mins of talk or so.....
Conclusion - Good email functionality and all that but this phone overall SUCKS!

I have been complaining to T-Mobile that if I'm in any situation where there is background noise I can not be heard! In fact it is so bad that I have to carry two (2) phones if I'm planning on being in that situation...They said that this is the first time someone has complained and that there is something wrong w/ my software...It's funny that other 7100 Blackberry owners are also experiencing this problem! Now I am stuck w/ this phone or I have to pay another upgrade...Bad situation!

I have purchased the 7100t returned it the next day when I tried to use it outside and could not see ANYTHING on the screen. Now have my 2nd 7105t. As I read everyone's comments it saddens me to say that I agree with two basic facts about this phone. 1) Great phone with email and contacts. 2) Does not work when trying to have a conversation. You will consistantly loose reception and the sound terrible. I will return this phone.

I just purchased the NEW 7105t and friends are complaining that I am nearly indiscernible when I talk in areas with any moderate to loud background noise. I carry my headset for such occasions. I am not sure whether I will keep the phone because I love the other features.
