I purchased the 7100t in April. It has been a great extension of the office from an email standpoint; however, the cell phone function is less desired. The reception is poor at times, and everyone tells me that I sound like Charlie Browns teacher. You would think that the 7100t would work better as a phone than for email compared to other balckBerrys. I give it an 8 for email and a 2 for phone on a 1-10 scale.

I just got my Blackberry w/ T-mobile. Overall, the phone is wonderful! It surely takes time to get used to with the keypad. Once you mastered it, it works great.
Surprisingly, my web browser is fast enough. It's not as slow as I thought. I don't know why you guys are having problems with web browser. FYI, I live in Los Angeles.

ROBERT
A quad band phone is supposed to work well on T-mobile since they added 850 Mhz frequency. But I heard that they used to block that frequency on their phones. I`m not sure about that now-but if I were you I would ask in the place of purchase.
My opinion-among quad band phones the best one is Motorola E780.

i like everything about this phone EXCEPT - either tmobile coverage sucks or the phone has a weak antenna. i'm in the bay area and have never had such recpetion problems. hate to give it up (or tmobile) because i travel internationally, and it has good features for that. any idea if it's the blackberry antenna or lousy tmobile signal?

I have gone through 5, yes 5 of these phones. I could not take the people that I was talking to complaints any longer. Functionality on the phone I have to agree was great, but the problems with the cell phone itself was intolerable. There is something majorly wrong with this phone and T-mobile will not admit it.

OK, I've read the comments and I must agree and disagree with a few things. True, when it comes to functionality as a Blackberry, this phone does a decent its job satisfactorily. I'm a newbie to the blackberry world so I enjoy being on the go and sending/receiving emails but what I am NOT accustomed to is the crappy sound quality of this thing. I mean come on guys, what's the use in having a "cell phone" if the sound literally snap, crackles and pops. Not to mention your calls complain that you sound as if you're in a wind tunnel. I'm very disappointed with this portion of the phone. Of course this wasn't shared with me upon purchasing it by the T-Mobile rep. so yeh they got my money and I was rewarded with a poorly made cell.

Excellent phone for those on the move. Keeps me always in contact with my email messages. Internet browsing is excellent contrary to what some of the other post says. Hey it's internet on a phone, not internet through your broadband connection at home so don't expect it or any phone to be on par with that. At least for now...
Bottom line, I love it.

this phone is awful. The phone always goes out of the service area, the T-Mobile reps are just horrible and like they don't wanna help. I am considering purchasing the Nokia 7610 or the 6620 or 6670, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know....

I'm very disappointed with this product. The battery problems are just horrible and the T-Mobile reps are not helpful at all in addressing the problem. Just horrible. If anyone knows how to fix the battery issue (it just won't charge...under any circumstance)...please let me know. blackshaw@gmail.com

HORRIBLE! The reception was horrible. It was hard to navigate around. It was super slow! You have reboot it every time you use it! Battery is beyond terrible! I use to think Blackberry was a very good company, but since this, I WILL NEVER purchase a blackberry AGAIN!

This has been the biggest mistake I have ever made in purchasing a phone. It does take forever to reboot and believe me it will. But it will wait until your in the middle of an important call, perhaps with a client. Then while it reboots, no one can contact you at all...which is actually around 5-6 minutes. TMO know that this is a problem and there is a new software release out that I have applied. I will be calling to get at least a refund for a months service. Then when my contract is up in November, it's bye bye TMobile.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! It takes 10 minutes for the phone to boot up when changing the battery;something that I have to do every afternoon because of the short battery life. When hanging up, the phone loses its signal and will not re-establish a signal. I have exchanged it once and it was not the phone.I have spoken with T-Mobile customer support, numerous time, and they say that this is common to this device and they are working with RIM for a fix but do not have a clue as to if or when it will be resolved. They refuse to credit me for the phone, extra battery and extra charger or substitute a different model. They only want to credit me for one month's base bill. And I am still stuck with a phone that will not function as marketed and sold. T-mobile says that it is a RIM problem and not theirs. However, I do not recall purchasing the phone or service from RIM. I have spoken to their customer service reps numerous times and they are of no help. The last rep blamed me for not doing better research, such as Consumer Reports, and making a bad decision on the phone. I am sending their legal department a letter asking for a refund. T-mobile continues to market this device knowing the problems; how do you spell deceptive trade practices? And I am courious as to how many customers have had similar experiences?

Dee, I live in the US, Sprint is CDMA not GSM. This Blackberry will not operate on Sprints network.

Yes, it can work with sprint since it is quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900), but I would look into sprint and ask them to make sure they are not on CDMA still. You would have to buy the phone outright since sprint does not carry the phone.

Very cool phone once you learn how to use it. Could be more user friendly. Battery lasts a long time. Frequently used buttons could be slightly larger. Love the phone!

Great Phone. Just got mines and it works fine. Yea the web is kind of slow, but if I really want to surf the web for speed, I ll just use a cpu. Hands down this is a solid piece of equipment to add to your arsenal.

Great Phone, great features. Ive had mine for 3 months and absolutely love it. My complaints are minor. The outgoing sound quality is a little lacking as the microphone picks up everything in the background and the send and end keys could be slightly bigger for easier access because I have large fingers. Otherwise one of the best phones I've used. (#1 favorite still the Samsung SPH-I500)
