oh and according to crackberry.com, the screen is BIGGER than previous models (like Curve and 8800), not by a significant chunk (only 1/4 inch), but apparently there's a greater difference visually (hyped up screen res + slightly bigger display). if the 8800's display measures around 2.4" diagonally, i would safely assume that the 9000 would be at least 2.5-2.6", which is a decent size, at least in my opinion.

aswesome. i've never been much of a crackberry fan either, but from the looks of it, this is going to be my new toy.
for people comparing this to nokias and the iphone, get your heads straight. Having used multiple nokias, those so-called "multimedia computers" are slow like a toad. they might have a powerhouse of functions, but what good is that when there isn't a fast enough processor to work out the magic? i.e. do you see them sporting 624 mhz processors?
and for the iphone, despite the fact that people have been labeling the 9000 as the "iphone killer", keep in mind that these two phones are still targeting two distinct, but not necessarily separate markets - business vs. multimedia/entertainment (i wouldn't go as far as to calling the iphone a "smartphone").
in the meantime, reviews are already pouring in, so check them out in the link below:

cheers, guys!

Would have been the best one if it was touch screen :(. Cam is ok, dont need that big of MP if you will not print a tarpaulin out of it.

Blackberry is Business
=========================

For all those who don't understand what a blackberry is: It's a business oriented device to allow seamless communication between business partners. You see this thing in action you will understand what I mean.

The WI-FI is used for LAN connectivity to a network or intranet. The BB really is an extension of the bosses laptop that helps him to read and write e-mail on the go.
It is acceptable in most meetings to use a blackberry, as where it is not to use a mobile.

Fine line: Business = Blackberry, Mobile = Private.
Or so it is perceived.

I must agree, this is a sexy looking Blackberry (never thought I'd say this)!

The screen resolutions is adequate and even though the size is smaller, the picture quality should be way better than the i-Phone.

Nice work! This will be a total hit in Japan!

finally BB release a phone with 3G! Shame that they only have a fat version at the moment.
to the people who say blackberry's are a waste of space....
Did you know that BlackBerry use a unique system of compressing internet data so you can view webpages and emails faster? They are not just a buisness phone! They are great for anyone who likes to browse teh interwebz, and now that they are 3G they will be super fast!

624 MHz processor? This bad boy is faster than the HTC Touch Diamond...which is what I want. Nevertheless, I still think this will be one of the best sellers for Blackberry!

So basically it's a Motorola Q9 look-a-like and first BB with HSDPA which Motorola had last year already...
Q9 is still better with better keyboard and shortcut keys to email, calendar, camera, browser, ...

The Phone will NOT be touchscreen, RIM has stated while they will be releasing a Touchscreen Blackberry in the future, They wanted the 9000 (Bold) to have the keyboard they users knew and charished. It should be available in June or so, around 300-400$ Im not sure if that's unlocked, or under a contract with a carrier. They haven't announced carriers yet, but I suspect they will soon.
