turn off 3g in manage connections -> mobile network options -> network mode

I turned the data reception off but the 3G indicator is s... moreI don't know why you would want to turn off the 3G network, but from personal experience you cannot turn it completely off. If you are in a 3G network you will have 3G coverage and if your are in an EGDE area you will have EDGE.
