i just need to ask if ( msn messenger and BB messenger ) can be used through a wifi connection ? or is it necessary to have a blackberry service ?
This phone is absolutely brilliant, Ive always had Sony Ericssons, Samsungs, Nokia's but this is my first BlackBerry. It has shocked me with all the features, the instant web browsing, the easy accessible emails, the weight of it doesnt weigh much, the camera quality considering its only a 3.2, the media player and the telecoil for the deaf.
I have took it out on Virgin Media for £30 a month x 24 months 600 mins & unlimited texts & internet.
I will never change phones again, this is the best phone ever and I simply cannot fault it. It is easy, accessable and solid.
dave, 22 Jul 2010Hi guys, Two questions: 1)I am keen on the BB9700, but have just noticed the Nokia E72. Whic... morei have E72 and im somewhat disappointed. the navigation is so solow and when i open and read a text message, men! it takes couple of mins. so im planning to switch to BB but im not sure if BB is good enough
you know, BB2 9700, is a good handset. its nice for the email, for connection - (msn, yahoo, twitter, bbm)... however, when i updated it to the latest version, i started to be disappointed on it.
i have no problem with the music player, but with the video player, some of the videos that i used to play before on the previous version is playing very well, now numerous of the videos when i tried playing it or sometimes in the middle suddenly a message in the screen will appear like this, "An error has occured attempting to play media." further more when i tried playing it one more time, "Device media processor is busy."
overall its very nice phone, but of of course sometimes i don't feel like bringing my ipod or camera in one time. so i used the camera, music and video player of my phone and now its failing me.
1)I am keen on the BB9700, but have just noticed the Nokia E72. Which one do you think is better? They both have the same specs. I will be getting a free BIS contract if I take the BB.....
2)With the BIS contract can I download anything(ie:music) or just surf?

im thinking of purchasing me one, the 9700 bold ofcourse. only reason why im being two minded is because im a nokia user all the years and actually would never want to change my brand of choice because of its durablity. shouldn i or should i not? and please dont come with your salesperson language or try to pitch me some cheap chinese replica with ther entire BlackBerry in lower case characters like 'blacKbery', you guys know what im talking about. so some positive advice would be acceptable and greatly appreciated and please who ever want to come with their bombay psycology replies i would advise you to go sell it baghdad.
When I press the calander button it take time to open, I have tried to update my phone, no improvement. kindly advice. thank u

Imtiaz, 20 Jul 2010I m using Nokia e71 but got BB Bold 9700 is there any tools to transfar all contactlist, todo ... moreyes. Blackberry is just like a mini PC. everything can be transfered, from old blackberry device to new blackberry device by using Notebook and USB cable data.
JRF, 21 Jul 2010I agree. I have the 8520 and I too lose signal, but only when I'm home. When I leave, I enter ... moreAnd even then, I can see that the "antenna wars" shouldn't have been made into such a huge problem. The reason it did was because Sir Jobs at first said "you're holding it wrong, there is no problem" and then said "it's not a common issue, a SW update will fix it" and then "fine, it is an issue but since we want you to know that we love you and we want you to love us too, we'll give everyone a free case". This was the worst way for a CEO to respond to the customers. He should've acknowledged it from the beggining and tried to fix it ASAP. But, since he didn't he was caught in this mess and, to make it worst, he wanted to drag in other companies as well.
LaLa MaMa, 19 Jul 2010I actually held my blackberry device as it was demonstrated by Apple during the press conferen... moreI agree. I have the 8520 and I too lose signal, but only when I'm home. When I leave, I enter an area with better coverage, so my BB doesn't lose any bars or it'll lose 1 or 2 and come back. It's a common issue with any phone, the point Apple didn't seem to accept is that their "jesus phone" would drop that signal while holding it normally. This was due to the fact that their antenna is placed where one's hand will easily come in contact with it while in use. Our BB's don't drop that many bars while in normal use. At least, not as easily as the iPhone 4.
Please give me the step by step guide on how to upgrade my os from 18.104.22.1685 to 5.0.0. 593
