I am looking at getting myself a BB.
I handle multiple businesses and hence use multiple email IDs, 3 to be precise. Any idea if the BB can be configured to handle multiple mail IDs, like I presently do on MS Outlook?
Can anybody recommend the best option from the models available? I am looking for a model that can support:
1) send/receive file attachments in mail
2) open & edit of Word files
3) open & edit of Excel files
4) open PDF files
5) etc.
I want the service only for me (not for anymore staff) as I am constantly moving between offices. Can I work it as a stand alone device or do I need to setup the BB Enterprise Server?

I have been using a BB 8100 for over a year now and I have had the problem with the call logs and txts disappearing. It turns out that when the memory on the device gets full (with photos, txts and emails) it auto deletes the txts and call logs to make room for emails etc. Just delete some txts and photos and turn the handset off, take the battery out and when it starts up it will have loads of free memory!

I would like to give you my feelings about this phone:
- I have been using mobiles & PDA for the last 10 years
- I have always been a Nokia man, and generally I am very fond of Nokia phones
- I have also used HTC, Sony (before it became SE), QTEK; but never leaving Nokia, as am using two phones. Generally pleased with WM devices, but do not prefer them as a basic phone
- I am currently using N95 (1) for a year already and am really pleased with the device. Never experienced any of discussed troubles, including battery life complaints - I can live with it.
Now, I wanted to get a BB device for some time for two reasons mainly: (a) needed email messanger (less important) and (b) eager to play with the device to decide getting so contraversial evaluations (main reason).
So, I got BB 8310, and:
1. I am astonished by the device - easy, intuitive and responsive in a way, I have not experienced before.
2. very stylish
3. email function unbeatable (I have been using email appl with N95, but going back to it seems like returning to stone age)
Even though I still enjoy my N95, I have also found that I am kind of inclined to move more of my mobile uses to BB 8120.. which even surprised me a bit, to be honest. Not even using the GPS or the camera (it would be stupid, having N95 in my other hand), but only phone and mail capabilities, I am very fond of this BB device.
Now, I have N95 to play with, and BB8310 to do business with... Not a bad combination, if you can afford it. I was even thinking that I should have done it earlier. I do not intend to change either phone for quite some time.
I think both of them are great, though incomparable in a way you cannot really compare an excellent car with an excellant computer (not so correct as comparison, but I know you get it).

Auto lock the keypad in securty! or just proess the mute button and it goes into standby mode, press again to come back to life. hope this helps!!!
To all those that hate BB!
Please remember that this is a BUSINESS PHONE and it performs business tasks extremely well with a VERY intuitive interface. All of you out there writing negitive comments only display your ignorance to us all. No it does not have 3G it runs on encrypted packets that are designed for GPRS and not for streaming connections. Its got good but basic media functions, but these are not core applications for BUSINESS users. It is not suited to PRE PAY users, you need the support of a contract, and the BIS server behind it. But for BUSINESS users out there with a network that fully supports it the BB is hard to beat!! The GPS is the best I have ever used in a phone. The Trackball is very slick. It has that Apple feel to it! everything you need, none of the clutter you dont and every application interfaces with another!!!
Big Problem is that any other phone feels like a toy to me now!!

Wounderful stuff.
Very fast phone. Great camera for 2.0 (1600x1200). The lack of 3 G makes internet surf tedious. But still been a very strong/fast/safe OS. It's hard to go back for others plataform, even for symbian.

I just think all Blackberry phones are crap. Software errors, unable to get full functionality if one is a prepaid subscriber.
All Windows Mobile phones are the best. Be warned.

hello keith, thank you for your quick responese but unfortunately i was not able to set it up the way u said it because when i press OPTIONS go to ADVANCE OPTIONS press security and press the menu button it only has one option "CLOSE" there is no drop down list of options or no option called "WIPE HANDSET" where and how exactly can i access it. i tried sharing files thru bluetooth going from media and "RECEIVE files through buletooth" and it does not work...the blue light blinks one time and the other device says cannot send file to blackberry 8310...this is pathetic man cant beleive blackberry is so poor in this thing.
