i have bought a blackberry 8320 from new york and take it jamaica and im putting on the service on it,but its not working,because someone was using the phone with a service on it,but it seems like the service wasn't finish,before the person trade it in and now i can't access the internet on it,can you help me please?

I charge my blackberry 8320 battery with an universal charger and when i put it back to the phone, the phone did not on rather is it only the pinging light that is on. Please help me how to recover my phone...
