Ricardo Salazar, 31 Oct 2008Does it record video with the OS software update?Yep, it can record video with 4.5 OS Update.
Recently had this phone and it's just SUPERB! I've had lot's of phones over the last year or so and this onhe has really hit the spot. It's email facility is simply awesome, fast, easy and great features. The Blackberry capabilties really opened my eyes and is just a pleasure to use. I was sceptical about the camera and it not having video recording at first but the camera in actaul fact is more than useful (obviously not a patch on camera phones N95, ericssons e.t.c) but very tidy indeed!
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a blackberry!! :)
yes u can get external gps for this handheld .... also u can store and compose notes on it
Can A GPS software be installed on this blabkberry (8320) like the Blackberry Bold?
andre, 02 Aug 2008dear essence, upgraded into 4.5 is awsome. 1. battery life is better 2. there's documents... moreis it true that if you use a 4gb memory card in the blackberry 8320 this slows up the phone?? i want to purchase the 4gb instead of the 2gb and i was told that phone will "slowed" up? please respond asap
The signal is a mess. Every second you see call failed on the phone screen
Blackberry has weak signal problem!
the battery is very weak, even 1600mAh 'cause the software it self has a problem, looking for mail every second without idle!
please use symbian phone for better battery lifetime! guarntee!
Do I need to buy a memory card slot into the phone before I can download or get music, videos into it?

In this case, you're right. The 8320 has Wi-Fi but no GPS and the 8310 (I believe) has GPS but no Wi-Fi.
I believe both use either General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) or EDGE as available to send data, because both are 2G+ phones.
By the way, in the 8320, Google maps can locate your approximate position by using the cell antenna that you're connected to as a reference.

Anyway, I keep Wi-Fi shut down because I've got an unlimited data plan and all the Wi-Fi does from my view is drain the battery.
Then again, I'm using Telefonica in El Salvador... maybe your carrier has disabled GPRS?
I also find the new 4.5 Operating System slower. I don't know if it's the new OS, the new theme or both, but I feel my Curve got slower and locks-up/crashes a lot. Especially when I'm using both Opera Browser, BB Browser and e-mail simmultaneously for some time.
Does anybody know where one can set the browsers to "dump" cache after n MB have been filled?
qlemm, 06 Oct 2008does this device shoot video? cant seem to find the video feature, well, except ofcourse th... moreyou wouild hav to dload a diff version of the blackberry browser to get the video option acessible. try 4.5.2
does this device shoot video?
cant seem to find the video feature, well, except ofcourse the downloading method eg via blue tooth...
Great design, but very flimsy cover. The device will start falling apart after the first 4 months.
Unable to send address book contacts via sms. Unable to receive vcards....
After next firmware upgrade device is now very slow.
I had a BB 7series prior to this and it performed allot better. I recommend waiting for the Bold and checking.
One more thing! The 8320 does not have GPRS but WIFI. The 8310 has GPRS but no WIFI. Also MTN, CellC have not GPRS receivers.....
