I like this one very mmuch, but unfortunately I cannot use bb maps till now even I was download it, I just got bb maps installer and cannot use it , I bought this just for 3 week ago, anybody can help me?

I have been using this phone for a month now.... Love it.... i ditched my touch screen phone for this one..... the only drawback i can site is lack of applications on BB App World.... this phone is very rough & tuf.... Messaging freaks like me would like this phone very much........

battery life is just not good..if you use internet thn it lasts for only 4 hours.....

The 8530 and 8520 are virtually the same phone aside from the fact that the 8520 is a GSM phone and works on 2g and 3g but 8530 uses CDMA technology only and cannot be used on a GSM network. Data works on both CDMA and GSM.

Currently I am using a Nokia E73 with Tmobile 4G prepaid. I am very satisfied with the phone as at $60 a month you have unlimited talk/text and 2GB of data at 4G speed. I use the phone as a GPS and I love the Nokia Maps. I bought a Blackberry Playbook recently and virgim mobile does have a $50 unlimited BB plan for Curve 8530.
My question is how good in the blackberry maps, does it provide accurate turn by turn navigation?

If it does not, I may not switch because this is a CDMA device, I am not sure if it can ever be moved to any other service provider and the E73 is better in every other ways.

It means that you cannot browse the internet using your service provider if you have the 8520. But don't you worry since BB has its way to connect to the internet aside from the wifi :)
