I bought this phone after having sold my Galaxy Note. BB 9900 is a great Phone and Messenger!, however, the battery is pretty average(worse than on 9780 which I had had before). Though, in comparison to other top smartphones(Android, iOS) it's not bad at all. QWERTY rulez and touch screen is very nice to have.
Very responsive no performance issues.
The only significant drawback to this device is the small amount of Apps in the BB Apps Store and the network speed seems lower than on the Galaxy Note or S2 for instance. Great device for anybody who wants a solid smartphone not a toy.

> In reply to Super snake @ 2012-02-14 13:20 from 6kxJ - click to readIf you download the latest version I believe it's version 7 or if you buy it now, it should be the latest version and the battery is much more improved! Also, I've lowered the display down to 40% and also drain down the first 3 times and fully recharge your phone. That way you give it the optimal performance! Personally I wouldn't go for the torch or the 9790 as it's lower spec and also no guarantee that the battery is better!

> In reply to Pau @ 2012-02-13 13:05 from YTM9 - click to readI used to be a 9700 user myself and battery is SUPERB! IF your expecting the 9900 battery to be the same then you will be disappointed! However, the features on the 9900 will make the 9700 look silly and personally it is worth buying over 9790 as the 9790 is a curve replacement and slightly slower processor than the 9900! Your call! Battery wise 9790 probably won't be any better than 9900! Good luck!

I have been a BB Torch 9800 user. Then I switched to Samsung Galaxy Note. The note was good but I think Blackberry is anyday better for day to day use. So I switched over to this BOLD 9900 6 days back.
Trust me the battery life was pathetic intitally for like 2 days but after fully charging N draining it to zero for 3-4 times changed the battery life dramatically. Now once fully charged it give me a back up of 18-19 hrs under 50% screen brightness & talktime of 70 mintues on 2G network with frequent BBM & facebook use. I thinks its pretty decent for a smartfone.

I have been a BB Bold 9700 user. Then I switched to HTC Sensation. The Sensation wasn't bad, but I think Blackberry is way way better. So I'm switching back.
Is the battery really THAT bad? Because my old 9700's battery life was awesome. I text a lot, open FB, and keep the 3G on all the time, yet the battery lasts 'til the end of the day (which the Sensation definitely cannot do). I kinda thought all blackberries are like that. :|
So should I get this phone, or buy the 9790 instead?

Obviously your very shallow minded and have NO experience in BB or many other handset! So next time please keep your mouth shut and stop offending others whilst people are trying to help and give their advice! Are you that sure I've not had the Porsche and the Beemer!!!! Just to say that "Sorry" You are Wrong! I had both before!
