its a very good functional phone i dont think i can go back to using an ordinary phone its serves my purpose perfectly.
just one snag saved numbers do not show up when you receive sms (texts)the numbers come in as random numbers.

W/o wi-fi, would sending and receiving e-mails cost anything? (ie. data charges from provider).

I'm right with you,Berryman. you don't really need Wi-Fi on a Blackberry handheld.mails are automaticly delivered on it(push)and you can navigate html.

To the person requesting Wi-Fi on the Blackberry Pearl, it really rattles my cage when people say this. You do not need Wi-Fi on the Blackberry handsets, it uses Edge/GPRS connection to recieve the Push-Email.

@ Lisajean,

you cant change any of the sound qualities, you have to get a new back cover that has holes in it where the speaker is. ive seen one before...look it up and see if you can find one...

Hey, I have a question for the ones that have a BB 8100..... how much the battery last before charge it again?
On mine it last a just full day, but I need to charge it every night. Do somebody knows if there is other battery? Please let me know.

I think the pearl is a great data device for todays youth. Not a business exec phone though. It is also available in White and Red.
Here are links for pix of each.
