I'm not sure what the one gentlemen was talking about saying that there are only 50 apps for this device. The SDK is fairly well created and there are hundreds upon hundreds of java apps available for the pearl, ranging from games to organizers to efficiency programs and other tools. I for example have a detailed stock ticker on mine.

Windows mobile still has too many bugs, i'd rather wait until WM 7 or 8 arrives and i thoroughly test it before purchasing. If you want a 'Business' phone, stick with RIM or the nokia's N series.

just a response to some of the posts below:

*Yes this phone does ring and vibrate at the same time.

*The call quality is super, no adverse effects even when the volume is maxed. Infact, I'd say the call quality is very clear. I think maybe you encountered a bad batch of phones.

On a side note, the loudspeaker quality is quite good and for those who want to get a phone that can ring loud and play MP3's through the stereo loudspeakers with good quality, you might want to think of this as a cheaper alternative of the N95. It does not have an equilizer setting like the N95 but the sound is crystal clear through the speakers.

This device also gives an outstanding performance when listening through a decent pair of headphones to your MP3's.
again, the volume can be turned up quite loud.

Video playback is of high quality.

I'm rather impressed with the battery life so far. It does'nt take long to charge the battery to full.

8120 is a very cool phone. i work for tmobile and got to play with it a few days ago when it came in to the store. havent released it as of yet but its very similar to the bb curve minus the full key board. the one thing that makes me jelous of this phone is the video camera. if the curve had the video feature on it it would be a complete phone. but i would sugest this phone to anyone who was looking for a nice phone!

To answer the call log question, it depends on whether you have a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) you connect to or not. BES servers can keep a log of the call as well as the call duration indefinitely. In fact, the call logs can be set to remain even if you change to different Blackberry devices. It all depends on what your administrator has set as a setting for your user profile. If you are using this from work, ask your IT department regarding this.

Without BES, you may have used a carrier-handled server for push email and in that case you would have to talk to your carrier for this information.

Without a Blackberry data plan, the phone uses internal memory for these logs and it will be limited by the amount of free memory you have. Call logs take up very little space, so I would imagine it would be practically limitless.

Hi everyone. I'm so dissappointed with what i paid for. the Blackberry 8120 is not a phone for busineseman, but for kid. to me it looks like a $10 phone that i bought for my nephew. i don understand how the RIM make those kind of phone. if i were the businessman and using the blackberry 8120, i would be ashame.
