Anonymous, 12 Oct 2008even though it has no wifi its sill 7.2 mbps which isnt that far from wifi which is obnly 11mbpsConnection to a 3G/3.5G network cost much more than Wifi.
Yes, it can be quicker but the connection depends on the 3G signal and I didn't find it reliable.
It's a stupidity from Blackberry not to include Wifi on the package.
Wifi is widely available and fast... Strange decision. It shouldn't be expensive to add Wifi to the phone.
GABRIEL, 12 Oct 2008no wifi ---> no smart phoneActually it's still a Smartphone. As long as it has PDA functionality it's still a smart phone. There were smartphone's before they introduced wifi to the PDA/Phone handsets.... I do agree with it being a set back though. I expected better from them.
Anonymous, 12 Oct 2008even though it has no wifi its sill 7.2 mbps which isnt that far from wifi which is obnly 11mbpsI think you no get it. Using 3G cost more money and you have to pay. But using Wi-Fi at Home, Mall, Office, Airport, and many places free. Also when you travel still many countries not have 3G so how you going the connected in Airport. Your phone is roaming and using the 7.2 is costly. Why you guy no study before you talk about what you say?
even the kick start has wifi.. i think its a stupid move RIM made to don't put wifi
Can I ask a question to existing BlackBerry users? What as the web browser like on speed and reliability?
I currently use Nokia web browser, and I find it a bit slow, although most people say how great it is!
How long does it take to load say gsmarena front page with hsdpa connection?
Anonymous, 11 Oct 2008even though it has no wifi its sill 7.2 mbps which isnt that far from wifi which is obnly 11mbpsYes, and once again that's assuming you can get a matching connection. Only concern would be to get a flat rate data plan, and no silly caps or fair use policy
even though it has no wifi its sill 7.2 mbps which isnt that far from wifi which is obnly 11mbps
Anonymous, 11 Oct 2008wifi is only as fast as the internet connection is connected to. knobWi-Fi is not same as the internet connection on your dial up or Edge. I looked more around Blackberry and this Balckberry 9500 does not have Wi-Fi. Useless phone. Wait for Nokia 5800 or great time with my Omnia . Thanks Blackberry

In response to the theory that the Storm will be released on 25th October 2008 because this is the date shown on a Vodafone UK image on their website, please, don't get your hopes up. Think more November, perhaps towards the later stages of the month, and you'll be a bit closer to the mark.
