> In reply to Woogie @ 2008-12-22 07:09 from YdmXScratch that, it won't work on AT&T 3G either, since it only offers 2100MHz HSDPA and not 1900 MHz. So if you want 3G, a CDMA carrier is your only choice. It does get broadband overseas, though.

> In reply to SAM @ 2008-12-21 15:53 from mwCbThe 9530 is primarily intended as a CDMA phone with global GSM capabilities, the 9500 is GSM only. The 9530 is sold by Verizon and is locked to CDMA only in the US, though I'd imagine there are methods to unlock the device for GSM use in the US already.

Just keep in mind that this phone will only be able to use AT&T 3G. It will not work on T-Mobile's 3G network because it lacks 1700 MHz HDSPA capabilities.

Reasons why you should not get/own a Blackberry Storm:

5. Does not want to buyout current mobile phone contract.
4. Does not have access to the internet at home or at work.
3. Wifi - connect to public wireless network, costless data transfer, perfect for Youtube, streaming music, unlimited access as long as the connection is available.
2. Wants a multi-capable device for handling music, radio, news, email, phone, restaurant, games, movies, youtube, etc. to eliminate carrying more than you have to.
1. Would love to own an IPhone. (see what 1 did there)

In conclusion, the Blackberry Storm does a great job of doing what I need for when I travel. Keeping track of schedule, incoming emails ,tunes , some videos are all I need when traveling from home to work, even downloading an article before taking the underground train. BTW, media's purpose is to propagate ideas like 'I would love to own an Iphone,' perhaps.

Unless you are doing heavy streaming of video content & music, per average a heavy email user and occasional web surfing would get you up to 20mb (more or less) of data transfer per month. Just keep track of you stream and upstream of videos and photos.

I work for an Ad Agency that uses an enterprise server, we purchased 25 of these phones and they completely did not work, lots of glitches and OS issues. This phone is a JOKE!. We got the bold with at&t and worked perfectly.

Nice desgn, poorly executed. First the negatives:

1. It's difficult to reposition the cursor to correct text - in fact it can be nigh on impossible.
2. Selecting menu options often results in an incorrect choice, even though you click the one you want.
3. Here's the worst part, if you're on Vodafone: it doesn't do synchrnisation with Outlook. Blackberry's can as a rule, but this one cannot AND there is no date for when it can. I was sold it on the grounds that it is a proper integrated business phone but as it doesn't do this, then it isn't. And, for a Blackberry, that sucks!
4. Camera shake is appalling.
5. Predictive text is very inclusive but some everyday words are missing. Very odd!

Good points:

1. Nice design - looks good.
2. Battery life is fantastic
3. Large screen makes it easy to read.
4. Predictive text is pretty inclusive (but see nagatives too)

IMHO Vodafne spent so much time and effort on this being so "wonderful" that they forgot to make it business friendly.

So this phone really doesn't have WiFi?
I thought it was an omission but this is not the case. This makes this phone worthless. T-Mobile 2G networks are laughable at best in Chicago so I need WiFi whenever I am in a bar or cafe. And this is a business phone they stake their company on?
Oh wait, they have the Bold...

Who cares if there is no WiFi peeps.... Surly thoose who choose to opt for the Storm will have online access at home and work. I havent had to connect any of my fones to a wireless connection before, ill just use the desktop or laptop.

Its not a 5* browsing machine so its does the job really. Its purley becoz we need push email, thats why we choose blackberry
