ok so, having been an avid NokIA fan, i thought id jump ship ship and give BlaclBerry a try, I like the phone, its simplicity because other phones for example have Flashy outlays on the menu's for instance which after a while mean nothing hence a plus for the straightforward menu layout on the BB and on the sub menu"s too. the camera is excellent during the day but could do with more zoom power and better performance at night despite the presence of flash.
the size and overall feel i think is good for a smartphone however the QWERTY keyboard is a bit too squashed but i guess thats the norm with any smartphone.
the downside though for me are that the ohone sometimes freezes for brief periods/miniseconds as if the phone is having hiccups. the network reception is good but the battery runs down quite quik when u run several apps which other phones can handle better. i dont mond not having wireless as i use 3G which performs well. i bought the phone in America and use it in South Africa (got it unblocked there) and it seems to perform equaly well. However some apps from the blackberry app world dont work so well in South Africa but i guess its coz they were not designed to work in certain regions.I also dont like the way apps that u delete from the bb appworld remain lingering in ur downloaded folder despite u having deleted them even though theryre highlighted as being archived upon deletion, its too much clutter lying around. finally, i do not understand why the bluetooth wont work for file transfers even from another BB. overall, im gennerally satisfied with the phone, the looks and performance and the bb internet service too. had i paid more than the bargain price at which i got the phone for, i may not have such dear words for the phone but overall im satisfied by it.

Okay...I've been going through some of the past post and I can't believe at some of the comments...most people complain about the lack of wifi...are serious??? I live in virginia and have this phone for sprint. With the 3g coverage this phone needs no wifi. Plus wifi just burns you battery down. This my 3rd blackberry (I've had the 8800, and the 8310) and this by far the best one I have ever held in my hands. The keyboard is phenomal. The screen work perfectly inside or outside and the camera is great. Youtube works good and I can go @ least 2 days without charging with medium to heavy use.my suggestion to those who say blackberry wasted their time are just clueless. Great job blackberry. If you want wifi or just want to play on a phone. Go to nokia or samsung. This phone is for grown ups who don't get paid by the hour. Go get a suit and tie and find a job with benefits. or just keep playing games and warching youtube while your on break. And make sure my fries are hot when I order them

The Blackberry Storm runs on a 528MHz Qualcomm processor. I personally have had it only for one week and I enjoy it. Very good phone to have and very usefull.

why does sprint and verizon gets the worst phones out there! they are like the garbage pale for phone manufacturers.
the absolutelly worsed designed, worsed functional, lacking functions, lacking appeal, battery life.
i like cdma, good service but Comon! can we get a normal phone! once? maybe a better phone than att or tmo?
its mind boggling, billion dollar copmanies, who chatge an arma nd a leg for monthly service, cant get normal phones like bold, bold 2, 8900, nokia's, samsungs, lg's. notn! nada! what we get? some trash called 9630 who nobody wants or cares about, taht has a crappy scrolling ball. amazing!

i got my blackberry tour from gsmallover.com. it was really nice cuz the phones come fully unlocked n you don't have to sign up for a new plan to get it...and it was much cheaper than the full price at the store. it came really fast and the shipping was free. the phone is really nice. i just use it for basic calls and texts, but it performs really nicely. great service and great phone.

Even you have wi-fi if you don't subscribe to BIS plan, it still won't work. Well, only for surfing and that's basically it (no e-mail, no YM, etc.) So there's no point in having wi-fi really. In the end, you'd still resort to BIS plan if you want to get and enjoy its full service.

Given the specs, I suppose except for the appearance make over, this isn't any better than the Curve 8900.. A phone like this without a wifi is gonna be very expensive to use specially when one is deep into mobile internet. This phone is indeed for people who can afford to pay pricey data plans.
