BB just went through a tough restructuring and remodelling of its business strategy. It could not be denied Blackberry lost market share during the last three years. This is why they went "low-profile" in all its markets, globally. Now, BB is through that restructuring and its efforts have been recognized in the business and tech worlds , including Wall Street, as being positively in the right direction. In the last quarterly earnings report of Blackberry, the numbers were already bottoming out and on the upswing, meaning, the turnaround of Blackberry is already supported by the right indicators which involve a LOT, but it includes at the very least its solid business fundamental, strong leadership under John Chen, and a robust stocks performance, all solidifying the "comeback" of Blackberry.
One of the pillars of the comeback strategy is the introduction of new devices such as the Z3 (and others such as the Passport, Classic, and many others down the line). And the Z3 is being introduced into the so- called emerging markets at a calculated pace. This is probably the reason you don't see the mass marketing. Because Blackberry is now being careful with its target market. Take note that Blackberry is not only about the consumer market (us, the masses) but also about Enterprise, Big Business and Governments.
So the lesson of the story is: Be patient with Blackberry. If you have this, then you are a member of the target market. Then, you will see the wisdom behind. But to assuage your concerns, I believe (I can only believe since I do not claim to be a Blackberry know-it-all) and based on reports during the recent Z3 launch in Manila, that they are in talks with the Philippine telcos right now for the re-introduction of the new devices, including your Z3, into the telco's service bundles and offerings. And pretty soon, Blackberry will be visible again, commercials-wise. In the meantime that this is not yet tangible, there are other means of getting the Z3. Try Lazada and other online stores.
Blackberry has just made a successful turnaround. This is a fact. And the mere fact that devices such as the Z3 and the upcoming Passport is already generating so much interest is a good indication enough that Blackberry is definitely back. Go Blackberry. You will not go wrong.
Thanks for bearing with the long read.

It is turning off wifi to save battery power during long time of inactivity.
reyc, 11 Aug 2014yes there is, you can find an outlet in the phils at sm north edsa annex..third floorThanks for the info.
I will try looking there. What is weird here is that they do not have stores/outlets in top places like SM Megamall or Glorietta.
BlackBerry should fire its sales team in the Philippines. There is simply minimal to no effort to sell BB phones.

It could be a temporary issue which would resolve by rebooting your device. I've also faced similar issue but that was not so frequent. I also had to enable the Wifi network sometimes. Are you far from your router where the signal is low? This could also be one possible issue.
Plzz tell me does blackerry Z3 supports video call.

basic phone..Go with grand 2
I just switched from a Samsung Galaxy to a BlackBerry Z3 a couple of days ago and I am having trouble with my home wifi. The Galaxy never had issues with it and stayed on constantly but the Z3 connects for a few minutes and then disconnects again and won't re-connect unless I reboot the router. I made sure I had the latest firmware on the router and updated the Z3 software as well. Apparently there is some setting on my wifi that was ok for the Galaxy but not ok for the Z3 and I hope someone can help me figure it out. Nothing else is using the wifi and the signal strength is very good.
What happens:
The phone connects successfully to the wifi. I open the browser and go through a few pages and then suddenly a page won't load at all. Sometimes the phone says it is still connected to the wifi and sometimes it sends me a message saying that the network has limited access to some websites. Sometimes it will instead switch to 3g. It doesn't only happen when I use the browser. Sometimes I am not using anything on it at all but just look at it and see it has switched to 3g.
I go into the settings and I see that it says my wifi network is disabled. I enable it again and confirm all the settings are fine and try to connect. Sometimes it goes through three attempts and then gives up. Sometimes it only tries once and gives me a message that it is unable to authenticate against the network and that I should verify network security settings and try again. No matter how many times I try, it does not connect until I log in to my router and reboot that. Then it connects immediately without my having to do anything.
Any idea how to rectify this..
Please help..
