> In reply to Rahim @ 2011-10-24 18:28 from uum5 - click to readYou can fix the battery, buy 4 NiMH AA size butteries, then open your phone battery case using a small screwdriver , then you will find 4 NiMH batteries connected with each other try to disassemble them, be-careful when you are dealing with batteries it may explode, then solider the new 4 batteries in place of the old one, now you got a new battery charge it and go:)

Hey i have this phone. But my battery is not working. I was not using it for few years and now i opened the battery case and found that the battery was rusted :( Can anyone help me buying this battery?

i have this phone and use it till now, but it is not working in certian network specially recent net work,
any body have a solution for this problem..

this phone is indestructable
i used to play squash with it instead of the rubber ball(the catch is to remove the antena before playing)

I have GH688 since 1998. Phone's built quality is amazing! I love this phone so much. I kept it for 7-8 years in closet, but yesterday I bought a new battery and gave this phone a new live! This baby will serve me as a land line replacement home phone

I have one of these, made in 1998
This phone is bombproof, magnesium chassis and tough polycarbonate covers.
needs new antenna and battery every 2-3 years.

very good phone. unfortunately, when mine lost its signal a few years ago, i wanted to take a look inside. by the way, that ericsson already had 3 owners before it got to me, and still, the casing looked almost like new-very tough plastic. the phone was so well put together, that i had to smash it a few times with a big hammer before opening it. that`s what i call quality :D

i have tow spices of this phone i bought it form old market form our county i consider it as masterpiece so i looking for this phone since long time until find it
the jest is when i try to find the new battery for this phone i found it but the price is greater than of phone price
phone = 15 LE (2.7 us$)
battery = 20 LE(3.6 us$)

i remember, my dad got this mobile in 1998 when i was in india. and we did not use the mobile for 1 year after purchasing it, because the cost of one minute of incoming or outgoing call is 16 Rs/min !!! whoops...
but i love this phone. my very first phone that i handled !!!
