I bought what I believed was a refurbished copy of this phone in 2007. When it worked, it was good, with clear sound. Plus, the "shark fin" antenna was an eye-catcher.

But, more often it didn't work. Incoming and outgoing calls couldn't register. And opening the battery compartment was a bitch. After a year of unreliable service, I gave up on this phone.

I still like its design, though.

Ive got 2 of these babies, a yellow and a orange one... I always take one out mountain biking just in case.. brilliant phones.

This is by far the best phone I ever had. The rubber on my first one disapeared after a couple of years. I managed to get a used one to replace the first one. havent used them for quite some time and the batteries are probably shit. Might give it a go some day to try to start them up.

I wish they would start making them again with an severe update.

First mobile I owned. Just dug it out 8 years since last use..charged perfectly, works perfectly, looks wonderfully unusual now....it was fab then and it's fab now....retro defintiely rocks.

dis iz da best fone eva. i meanz luk @ itz rino horn. RINO310 so cool manz. i luvz it. little squidgey buttonz and perfekt vizion on da screen. 'Mazin graffikz, diz cannot be beaten. proper smart yoofz made dis hanset yo.

Can't remember if this was my first ruggedised handset before or after the 6250 and M35i, but I love it (so did Lara Croft).

Thought I'd put a foreign SIM in mine so that it can connect to any UK network in emergency or out of coverage with my normal phone.

Battery charged up well and phone is undamaged (still looks brand new almost), but it won't allow connection to any network ("unavailable") with any SIM. Even 112 (emergency) won't connect. It can detect networks, just wont connect! Have SIMs changed over the years or has my IMEI perhaps been incorrectly reported as stolen? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Just took out my old 310s because my smartphone died after 10 month. new battery (10 euro).and my 2001 phone is up and running and i cant understand why i ever put it away. Good signal, good mike, solid casing. rubber is worn thoug so i think i will upgrate it with a new front (25 euro).
BEST PHONE EVER.

My best phone ever. Too bad can't find new ones. Maybe will try sonim. I was looking at those Hong Kong ones, but probably fake, would be still good for the case , tho.

There are a lot of R310s "refurbished" phones from Hong Kong, for sale on eBay. What do you think about these ?
I think they are obviously fakes, as it is impossible to have spare boards for a ten years out of production phone. Even the mainboard is fake. For those of you who have bought it from HK, how is the phone working in low signal - remote areas ? I would be interesting to compare one original phone and a "refurbished" HK one.

this phone is amazing- the ariel provides the best signal going, no matter what network, i can even use it in my cave house- the colours and bright and vibrant, i really stand out in the groud with this bad-boii, i like the little green light that flashes when i've got a text, makes me look mega popular when im in public... even when my phones set to silent!1 this is the ultimate hs!!!!!!
