it's cool phone, but some times have malfuctions. like hang out, "no signal/no network", and finnaly died.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes in previous post. I obviously meant to say "pity that it doesn't have Tri-band or Quad-band" instead of GSM. I also meant to say that I have now updated the old beat-up original R310s that has part of the rubber rubbed off and bottom cover missing (but still working)with another one that is like new.
When are Ericsson going to 'update' this model? - or at least bring out a new 'waterproof & sturdy' model? I doubt if they will now, because of the cost of making such a strong phone. Now every company has jumped on the plastic bandwagon where everything breaks or stops working as soon as you cough at it or show it a rain shower...

I've used this phone in the harshest of conditions and climates worldwide. built like tank and even though I've dropped it numerous times on hard rocks or pavements it still keeps on working!. Mud? Just was it off! Rain? No problem! This is a superb outdoor mobile phone. Only negative is that it is not tr-band for USA. My old one is looking a bit frail now, so I've managed to obtain a mint-conditioned R30s to replace it if it ever goes wrong...although the original 'beast' keeps on working no matter what i throw at it! The latest 2005 Nokia rugged phones just don't match this superb Ericsson model of the past...

i'v got one from almost 3 years. it's the best cell phone i had .but it's a litle old and the battery cannot stay in stendbay more then 2-3 days. besaide i cannot get another one new , it's not avaliable in shops .but even so he does the job .

I have one of these "beauty" 4 years ago.I lost it in the Black Sea while swiming with it linked to my arm with the wristpad.I am a Ericsson addiceted and i only had E or SE.Yesterday i found a small dealer who had just one more piece of R310 sharkie Blue.So i bought it.Everything is great...except one thing : display has only 3lines.Is it normal?If i remember well it must have 5lines.Buy this phone if u can find it somewhere.

I have an ericsson r310s. Occassionally I have been experiencing power off problems. The phone would just turn off on it's own. This problem has reoccurred and I have not been able to power up. Can anyone please let me know how to get around this problem ?
