A wonderful phone, one of my favorites ever... very slim for the time, elegant and beautiful, had two, one got broken because I messed around with it and the other is still working, good as new, sometimes I use it again, still one of the best mobiles around, very impressive...

Pros:
- slim & professional design
- nice colored plastic case (minor scratches will not deter its looks compared to painted cases)
- ultra slim battery (fits nicely in your wallet)
- calendar that can be viewed by day, week or month.
- voice memo for 90 sec (has a separate button in activating the voice memo, very convenient!)
- clear and crisp mic and speaker
- voice dialing
- voice answering
- nice programmable shortcut keys
ie prolong press of ◄ = write new msg
prolong press of ► = phonebook
- can easily silent the phone while ringing (useful when you forget to put in silent mode while in a meeting) just press c while ringing
- basic organizer: alarm, calculator etc
- alarm activates even when phone is turned off (saves power)
- IR (can be used to send contacts)
- can be used as modem (via IR)
- Speed dialing (single prolong press of buttons 1 or 2-9)
Entertaining games (tetris, solitaire)
- east to vies status screen (sliding the button on the left side displays the status of your phone which shows you the profile, the battery life in hours (not bars), alarms, date, time etc.
- bright but soft green backlight (does not strain the eyes even viewed in the dark)
- WAP (to check email, but not browsing)
Cons
- slow keypad (not ideal for chat)
- only 99 phonebook memory
- limited ringtone and msg tone
Conclusion
This is a great phone for its price and feature. Its technology, features and convenience cannot be compared to similar phones of its time like the nokia 6210. The phone's features can still be used even up to todays technology. I personally preferred this phone than any low end mobile phone in the market. If you still use this phone today, the only thing that you missed is the the colored screen, the polyphonic and the GPRS. But considering that this phone is released in the year 2000, it makes this model one heck of a phone.

Yeah... I've just got this phone today... Just Handset and charger... It seems the battery is not original, but it's ok. Just make me fly back to a few years ago...
Let's see how the people look at me when I use this phone beside my Xperia X1...

what a great phone use to be!
I agree, Ericsson should re-produce a similar phone, based on this design, and with antena included.

This was my 5th Ericsson phone. I've had the A1018, the A2618, the R310sc, the T68 and this. I bought this from a colleague (2nd hand) and I did not have any problems with it at all. It was full-sized, slim and elegant (I had a blue one). One of the best made phones ever. Too bad I lost it when I was commuting (it fell out of my pocket)... Ericsson needs to go back to this design... Just make it in color, with a camera and flash, mp3 capability with expandable memory and bluetooth connectivity... And please leave the antenna. It looks way cooler with it!

This is one of the best mobile phones, in a long time. Our entire company used this phone. If only Ericsson can improve on this model. I have been through a range of manufacturers and models, over 25. Nothing like R320.

i bought it in 2002...still working perfectly (with battery for T28 :) great phone in every way...i bought more then six phones in this past years but this one, the first one, is perfect...better then my 3310 and 3410...and 6230, M65 and of course GA628 :)
just one problem i have with it, i can't find original battery for phone so i use one for T28 and it's always reporting (when i am charging battery) that this is unknown battery and it charges it half >> full and in the same way it goes down full >> half >> empty...only way to fix it is to find original battery...but everything else is just perfect. I am so sorry for Ericsson, i wish they could separate from Sony and come back to us as before... :(

hello
I used this phone for years and i was satisfied about the functions and the games. After it was stolen i bought a second one, which i used one year. after two months of non-using the antenna function was very bad. It doesn't receive 1800 Mhz providers and it does release the connection with 900 Mhz providers. I don't know what is the problem. Has someone a suggestion?

Just what I've been looking for. A site that I can make a comment about the Erricson R320. I have two Ericsson R320's for four years now and they are a fantastic phone. Great design. Very thin at the time of release, and elegant not gimicky. Good solid feel and nice colour. Can't understand why top width of phone is slightly less than bottom width though, 1-2mm. I'm being picky but I subscribe to symetrical design. You won't notice though unless you get a ruler out. Known to have problems with power amp as did one of mine, but I had it fixed recently and now holds charge. Talk time is typically 2.5 hours and reception is terific as is sound clarity. So many useful fetures even by todays standards. Hardly ever see used ones for sale so people must keep them, but when they do come up they don't sell! Maybe they don't have enough up to date features for todays buyers. If they could re-release this phone without the antenna protrusion, a camera. bluetooth, and it wasn't associated with Sony, I would certainly buy one. In the meantime I am running a Siemens SK65 which is another innovatively designed phone built to last but is chuncky due to folding qwerty keyboard. Most annoying feature is backlighting goes off after 15 seconds if no buttons are depressed and can't reset to stay on. If it is possible to change, please someone let me know. Also NEC N343i is worth a look. Have one and it has so many great features in such a small thin phone. Hope this may help someone and have a great day.
