> In reply to Faisal Imran @ 2008-05-13 18:57 from betI - click to readI know your post is over a year old, but even back then my son bought an unlocked iPhone on ebay; an it works great on T-Mobile. You can buy almost any phone unlocked on eBay; just save your search and have eBay email you everyday with the new listings. A few days or a few months you'll see what you want pop up.

This is absolutely still a great phone! I agree.
I have one that is a quad band. One of only two (out of six) that I have bought that will work on GSM 850. And I really want to find a back up or replacement.
Does anyone know the likelihood of, or was this altered? Is there a way to access the other bands? A hack? A fix?

> In reply to ramarocks @ 2008-12-19 12:35 from PxiC - click to readThere is one easy way to fix "No network" problem. If it HAS a signal which is bad there should be a problem with your network.
There is a tranciever directly under "YES" button on the back of the motherboard which could be disconnected from board temporary if you press the button too strong. :) The greatest way to fix it is to take a flux and an airgun. Another one way - you may use just a piece of paper. Put it inside between the back piece of body and this tranciever. My T28 still works fine after that. ;)
Mail me if you'll need some more instructions.

P.S.: by the way, does anybody has a part of flip with this small plastic thing which holds a flip closed? My is too old and does not holds a flip already. :(

Definitely one of the best phones I ever used - there's nothing at all like this anymore. The big 'funnel' aerial was definitive of this phone too. If Sony Ericsson as it is now known was to release a version without the aerial and a colour screen I would be biting someones hand off for one. This was the last phone that ever excited me, now they are all much of a sameness.

I purchased my phone as a back up when it came out and after few short weeks of loosing it I bought another T28 and have used it in Europe and Asia dozen times. I love this thin sleek phone for its size and it fits in suite or jacket with out being obvious. I would rate this phone 10 if antenna was smaller or if it was internal, Bluetooth would be a big plus. I will purchase redesigned version in a heart beat if it ever comes out. Unfortunately I am stuck having Verizon Wireless because they are the only one providing decent service in NY metro area for heavy users but their phones suck while AT&T offers i-phone and verizon offers phones that are some what behind in technology but service makes up for the rest...
I will keep my T28 as travel phone until it last... Hope this review was some what useful.

Great phone, I'm still using mine.. I have the extended battery and about 3 or 4 batteries as well. I used it in Europe a couple years ago and works perfect. My AT&T 64k sim card works in the phone too!!! People look at me crazy because I still use the phone, hahahaha.
