This is absolutely a beautifull device. The graphic presentation of the screen is just awesome. The voice command picks up very well, and most importantly the software supplied by eten is GREAT! This phone is definately worth the price!!

I was looking for a phone with GPS capability and came upon this baby.
While playing with in in the shop little did I know of the shortcomings of such a device if used as a mobile phone replacement.
Here goes, for the innocent.
No tactile dialing, you have to look at the screen to dial. Try this while driving and youre an accident on its way to happen.
To get to dial a number from contacts you have to press several times to reach the dial part.
You have no choice of which contacts you want displayed (Phone or SIM)
Active sync gives you no syncing options and cannot be disabled.
Unless your fingers are pencil sharp you need the stylus to do most basic functions.
If like me you are over 45YO forget it, you need glasses to see whats going on in the screen.
Out in the sun there just is no screen.
While you are talking on the phone, your ear will press screen buttons and open windows.
Once an app is on memory you have to manually remove it despite having shut it down. This means memory clogs down after some time and navigation software or the camera will not run and the phone will need reseting.
3rd party functionality apps like SPB phone suite, take up precious memory and dont really do much functionality wise.
The camera is a joke, with stepped zooming, terrible autofocus, hit and miss exposure and the focal distortion of a 17th century mirror. Not to mention that for some reason some of my shots turn up green.
The headset has no remote control capability.
The headset volume is minimal.
No little icon to see if the Bluetooth headset is logged on.
Windows media player is, well, ok for computers but on this device I would like to see Winamp.
Battery life is one day max with 4-6 5min phone calls and 2h of music, four to five hours if you play music continuously and use the screen.
The wonderful to the touch black color plastic cover will scuff after a few weeks in your pocket together with loose change or keys.
All in all this one month with the Glofiish has been a communication nightmare with a couple of brilliant moments of navigational enlightenment.
Whatever was I thinking when I bought a windows phone?

I finally get the TT6 working in my X500+. everything is fine. But the support from TomTom is useless.

I really like this PDA. It is amazing. I wondering why there is so much bad comment about X500+ out there.

TomTom Navigator 6 works just fine with this device. I'm having no issues at all. This is a nice device!

TOM TOM advised me that TOM TOM Navigation 6 is not compatible with WM6. They are looking into the problem. Anyone konws which GPS software would work for Eten X500+ in WM6 in North America?

Sad to hear that there's problem with ur x500+.
This is part and parcel of using a PPC phone. Most importantly, tell us abt the customer service. I used to have a DOPOD but the service sucks like hell, so i told myself no way am i getting another dopod (HTC).

Sound is pretty close to the HTC TyTN. So I say pretty nice.

Sound quality to me is great with the speakers on... not sure how it compares to 3250 but it is very decent IMO.
One thing i'm not used to is that the stylus is actually at the bottom. i'm more used to getting the stylus out from the top.. well it's just egornomics i guess.

Fragile? I dont think so. I got my x500+ 2 days ago and the built is similar to a typical PPC phone, so please do not mislead the rest.

So far this product is working pretty well and
of cos the most appealing factor is the resolution. Performance wise, so to say that it will definitely not please fussy customer. Do not expect instant response from the set, especially if you try to use it after having it sat on the table for some time. Phone calls perfect except some echos which i heard is due to WM6.

The SMS function does not come with the 'keypad' interface (like the dial pad on your home phone) but you can download something similar to make up for it.

I give it 8/10.

Worst device I ever owned. All Eten Pocket PCs are very fragile. The construction of the device isn't as solid as HTC Pocket PCs.

My X500 LCD screen broke. Does anyone know if I can replace it by the X500+ VGA LCD? Thanks.
