We already know that Google is working on two smartwatches of its own - codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish. We've also seen renders depicting their design. And now, we have some idea about their launch time-frame as well.
According to the usually reliable leakster @evleaks, both the watches will be released sometime in Q1 2017. He also revealed that both will be powered by Android Wear 2.0.

Specs-wise, nothing much is known about the wearables, except that the Angelfish will come with GPS, LTE, and a heart rate monitor, while Swordfish won't feature GPS or LTE, and might even drop the heart rate sensor as well.
Android Wear is an open source OS with closed source components. That doesn't make it proprietary.
why round screen? everyone understand rect shape screen can be better utilized. can use the space at corners, along the edge efficiently can the manufacturerers be a bit more practical?
I wonder if these watches will have that outside bezel touch thing. I think it's Google's Project Soli.
