I have a 514. The WIFI is unreliable which really cripples it for SIP.
The SIP codec can't be altered either.
Many reports of battery issues and I seem to be having this just two weeks in.
It's got active synch but most 3rd party programs are no good because they have 320x240 resolution.
I installed fring (specifically version for the 514) but it messed up the screen.

It's a good phone for the money but if you are looking for a smartphone then you probably will be too frustrated by its shortcomings.

I almost forgotten to mention that the guidebook that came with the phone has a lot of improvement to make.

I have the HP 512 for a while. It took me some time to get used to the small keys. I am not particularly happy that I cant assign phone tone to different groupings of friends but its not that important to me, just that its nice to know who is calling you when u are driving. I have problem setting Skype to my phone. Not sure if this is possible. Anyone out there who knows more of this, plse give some advice. I like this phone after a while and want to find a nice silicone cover but HP somehow is not a popular brand to get a proper cover. The speaker cant be compared to many out there when one wants to play MP3 music. So much about this phone.

@Rekin : the sound quality in quite good.Trust me...i have 2 (two) similar phones and the quality of the sound is ok on them.

@Hemant: This phone has bad sound quality. Even worse than my old Samsung D500. but with that price u get Windows mobile, wifi, voice commander .. really couldn't ask for more.

I plan to buy the HP 514, as i need evrything that any cell provides but besides that i need to know about the sound quality of the phone. Can any one tell me about the sound quality.

this phone can't multitasking, so you can't listen to the music while u'r working

hi guys!!iv'e been a user of windows mobile phone,such as XphoneII..,but im disappointed with it,,coz battery is no longer works,,i'm planning to buy this HP iPAQ 512 or 514,,is it having a good quality of battery?please help....THANKS...

hp did a high tech phone, people never thought that it was possible to get eveything that this phone has on that size(...strong reason!..)

rx1950 is more of pocket pc. So if you want a pocket pc, then go for rx1950 but if u want pocketpc and a phone then go for the 514..

hi bought this thinking that hp is gud but this fon is pathetic campar to battry life. how cam thy dnt provide aplications ,and one send sms to many by grup im surprised

hi i can't decide between this and rx 1950 rx have 300mhz processor but only 32mb ram this have 64mb ram but 200mhz processor and in my country those two have the same price

i've been planning to buy a new phone and i have my eyes on this HP smartphones..could anyone tell me the difference between the 512 and 514?? i can't seem to find any difference in both of them,they look all the same and their specs also looks the same to me..
