Using the phone is as simple as I've expected. For people with Google Maps questions - try IGO MyWay which works for sure on my device IPAQ 614c. If there is no map for your countries (map is *.fbl file format), than you can try any similar software with no need of downloading maps realtime (Garmin, Route66, TomTom etc). And please read a bit about GPS.
Also I can confirm that the device is working more than 3 months with 8GB Micro SDHC Card produced by ADATA and with price - 38$. Yes the device is not so loud but you can use vibrate and ring mode for incoming calls. Wi-Fi is perfect for me and I use it all the time, on every Wi-Fi spot, else I use 3G/GPRS with no problems till now. I have problems only with camera, sometime i have capture the pictures with wrong geometry of the objects but I've asked HP services and they sad that next ROM update (MP 1.03) might fix this issue.

My Ipaq 612c connected easily to the internet via my celfone in the Philippines the first time I used it. Without changing the connection settings, it can not connect to the internet again using my celfone. I tried to reset to factory setting and/or edit the connection settings but still unable to connect to the internet except when I connected through WiFi. Any help please.
Another problem is that with Mobile Windows Word, Excel and Note, the ENTER KEY of the keypad closes the program automatically (similar with the "OK" key function)instead of adding a new line or ending a paragraph. The ENTER KEY of the keypad works well only in TEXT MESSAGE editing. Is there any patch that can correct this?
Thanks.

> In reply to justin_ng @ 2008-06-27 03:48 from uCjeOne of the consideration for getting the 612c was to use the keypad and t9, but i ended up using back the Keyboard half the time. Still can't really get used to the Keypad.
Called the HP helpline, but it seems the lady on the other end can't really understand my problem.

> In reply to LSP @ 2008-06-26 10:58 from F4psI'm having the word completion problem too.
It's not working on my HP 612c and I'm surprised that nobody seems to be bothered by this issue? :(
Maybe everyone is using XT9 and I'm the only freak who uses word completion...

Hi, anyone has problem with the "word completion" feature, using the Keyboard/Letter Recognizer"? I can't get it to work. It only work when i input, using the keypad using the xt9.

Also, when i connect my bluetooth hands-free device, there is no indicating on of it being connected, on the Today screen. I onlt see the icon if i go to the phone function screen. Is this the limitation of this phone?

> In reply to Shabayek @ 2008-06-19 15:58 from m22jI'd have to disagree with wi-fi comment. I just picked up my 612c the other day and wi-fi works like a charm.. I can connect to unsecure network or protected by WEP or WPA without any problems.. My only issue with the device is that it should have the screen flush and not sunken.. other then that it's pretty good..

It's takes a geek to hook this thing up with a password-protected Wifi network, and then, it might not go through... making it only possible to use with open wifi networks (from the point of view of a layman),

With its so-limited software package, I feel like cheated out of my money to buy this expensive piece of metal !

@ Zul,

You need to purchase mapkings that works with the gps receiver which has already been in-built with the handset. You do not need additional hardware, only needed to install mapkings application/map/voice, etc, and voila you are on track.
