Hi All,
I have Been using HP IPAQ 912c since last month & I must admit it is a phone with almost all features. All you need is a high bandwidth like 3G & it will serve you in every aspect.
It is to be noted that HP has released this phone under HP IPAQ 900 Series with 3 different models. 910c, 912c & 914c. Every model is same in Hardware & OS but with different ROMPAQs for different regions (to support different service providers). Mine is 912c with Asia-Pacific Region.
I have read many of you complaining about GPS issue. Do note that this set comes with A-GPS(assisted GPS), it means that your Handset will take its "positioning coordinates" with your nearest BTS tower which is providing you GSM Service. Now for this purpose, you have to make sure that your GSM Provider is providing this A-GPS Service. Simaltenaously using any software like GARMIN etc..without GPS will unable to serve you.
Other solution is to get an external GPS like "NavGear KeyMate MK-51 Bluetooth GPS Receiver" or "TomTom Wireless GPS receiver" etc.
For those of you which are complaining about "bad user interface" is probably they are not a user of Windows Mobile phone. Guys its WM6.1 latest of all. BTW, I am eagerly waiting for newly announced WM6.5 OS by Microsoft.
Well, for user interface I would suggest to use SPB SHELL 3.0
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.co...mobileshell/
and download trial version & then buy it if you like. I really like it myself.
Now Battery (1940mAH): overall it will give you around 24Hours battery life with a standard use, which is very good for such types of battery killing handsets. However, if you feel like it is less then your requirement, you can get HP iPAQ Extended 3800 mAh Battery, it will cost you nearly around US$80/90. Apart from it, using Battery Saving Techniques will be beneficial as well. For nice Add ons & Accessories for your handset you can visit http://ipaqchoice.com
Overall, I am very much satisfied with this handset, although it is more heavier then the older versions but its still quite unique. I would rate it 9.7 out of 10.
If you have anything specific to ask, mail me chmharoon@gmail.com , I'll be glad to help you out.

After the last update, I'm completely satisfied with this phone and not going to change it at least 1-2 years. The standard battery is great, works up to 24hrs with heavy usage (HSDPA/GPS/mp3 playback). In addition I recommend getting extended battery which's on 2/3 larger than a standard.

How do you get the Garmin GPS application for the iPAQ? Does it have a monthly fee? I would LOVE to know about this as I will have the phone in about a day or 2, and I was planning to go buy a tom tom or Garmin. Can anyone offer up some insight?

> In reply to joe @ 2009-03-31 16:07 from upvEThis product very usefull, i can use Facebook & Yahoo messenger without any problem (very easy) & the other side i can watch music video [metal bands] from famous bands, like Testament, Dragonforce & Ramstein in good pictures & good sounds. So all features could be acceptable in HP iPAQ 910c & no doubt to use this pocket pc. Think smart & be nice..

I got the newer one 914C. 2 weeks now and I am playing with it. I decided to use this as my primary phone and shift everything to it. 3g speed is 7.2M and my corporate emails and other applications working without trouble. As compared to other with WinM6.1, Cam3.1mpx,GPS-A 3G speed, this is the best.
Cons: low speaker volume, Battery consumption and weight. This FW is 1.00.03, but heard that soon there will be 1.00.05 to fix some volume and keypad issues.

Last week I just bought this smartphone (HP Ipaq 910C). I'm impressed with capability of this smartphone with reasonable price. I can use email, yahoo massenger, play video & music in easily. The other I can edit office (ms office & excel)& use internet only with single hand. I believe HP is one of my powerfull smartphone that I can use it at anytime.

Anyone have actual experience with this model and how long the battery lasts? My Treo Pro with a 1500mAh battery and two non-native apps running (SPB Shell, IM+) last 3/4 of a day with about 10 5 minute calls, and push email! In other words, near useless. If I have to opt for te 2500mAh battery, I might as well look at another PDA-Phone like this iPaq 910c. Thanks.

> In reply to ivica @ 2009-01-30 23:48 from MNSBYou can use the push email function on Windows Mobile. It is the same. Guys, please.. the push email technology it's not new, it is old technology for me, you can directly received an email just like text message. The good thing about WM is there's a lot third party software out there. Blackberry..?? I don't think so :)
