I recently picked up a touchpad and modified it to put ClassicNerd Butta ICS ROM on it...i have ZERO regrets about this device...probably one of the fastest and smoothest roms/tablets out there! Absolutely loving it...can't beat the price for it either!

correct..HP got frustrated as it is aiming to surpass Apple. Due to poor marketing?

They stopped making hardware devices and just concetrated on Software and IT services sounds like that, just like what have IBM did.

This project is cancelled as they mentioned in specifications Status : Cancelled.
Why HP is not serious about producing tablets ?
Maybe the competition is fired on and they just decided to gave up :)
