This HTC device is definitely on my list this 2013! Hopefully by January! I can't wait to get my hands on it! Butterfly is so much better than any other devices out there. Though the new L-Series of BlackBerry seems to be attractive as well but will never be as good as this quad core beast! This even leaves S3 and Note 2 out of the picture because those devices don't have the best screens in the market. About the battery life, I got no comment since nobody had conducted a battery test yet but hopefully this one has a good back up compared to the One series. I heard One X+ has a better battery now than the One X. Li-Po is definitely better than Li-Ion that's mostly used by other manufacturers so give the Butterfly a chance on that category. I will definitely wait for this beast here in the Philippines! I almost bought the One X+ but good thing I browsed on this site before I did and now I found this! Good job HTC! Keep rocking their a** off! I'll get this model first then see what Sony offers coz I bet they're next in line (among the biggest companies) in releasing phones with 1080p resolution. ^^

let me figure out., i have got infos that HTC Butterfly is the device that has been created for Asian markets., as the 'Asian Version' of the HTC Droid DNA - 'Verizon Version' ( in european market)... Does it mean., this one can not be founded in europe...??? (if you are aware about the trailer of Butterfly., it does also prove some kind of thing like that ) - expecting replies...

Yes! at last HTC is gearing up.
Some how I felt, there is a miss on battery for this 5" device.
Otherwise 1.5 Quad Processor Full HD 5" display and RAM 2 GB is fine optimisation, surely lacks with sufficient battery.
Yes, surely people would weigh their chioce with Galaxy S 3. I would opt for HTC as the built quality is better than Samsung.
Good product any ways.

for a 5 inch full HD display the battery capacity seems to be low .. could have been more than 3000 MAH atleast

For All those moaning about the battery life go to the link below and click "expand" button against all battery comparisons. then compare Droid DNA(the butterfly's verizon variant) with other smartphones. and then talk

HTC always seems to miss a couple things. Although I'll likely buy this device I hope my U.S. variant (carrier driven specs) has proper internal HDD of 32-gig not 16-gig (insufficent for device of this class) and the totally inadequate batteyr of 2020mAh. With a 1080p LCD3 Display this device screams for a 3000+ mAh cell.

Of less disappointment is 32-gig max SD slot. Its time for OEMs to make cutting edge devices hold 64-gig internally and within the SD slot. Let's hope the root ROMs hit the boards quickly and HTC doesn't do its typical wait forever for 4.2 upgrade.

I'd only give the Butterfly 8 to maybe 8.5 out of 10. Battery minus 1.0 and storage minus 1.0.

Otherwise am looking forward to using this new phablet once my carrier gets around to offering it.

Li-Po used (or perhaps invented) by Sony Ericsson or should I say Ericsson?
Even SE Xperia line-ups using Li-Po.
Not everything invented by Apple, Ok?

HTC's sense does not stop making me feel good. Its never boring such as Samsung's Touchwiz. I like that weather widget, beautiful and lively Icons and nice crisp colours. Keep it coming HTC.
