Anyone got a best app for the desire or android in general , Ill start the ball rolling . Floating images its not super flash it just displays your photos as a scrolling display and mixs it up with images off the web I think it looks neat and is better than the standard display.
Dwane, 02 Nov 2010I receieved my Desire today!! (after returning my Sh!t Nokia N8) I have not turned it on ... moreif it says touch sensitive screen then it's SLCD. they don't have AMOLED for Desire anymore. It doesn't really matter, in fact SLCD has smoother graphics (less pixellated than AMOLED) but less vibrant colours than AMOLED. And it's rumoured that SLCD drains more battery but that has not been really proven.
Is this the phone for me considering that I'll use it for:
1. Skype always logged in (does it hurt battery life)
2. Play music/record some videos (occasionally)
3. Remote desktop (every now and then)
5. Watch DivX on it
I have a HTC Desire, infact i have had it just 3 months after just 3 month i am in the middle off going through my 4th new replacement although i wont accept another HTC desire after having 3, im going back to a blackberry and wish i had never left them
I see that some of you guys are facing issues with auto shut down and connection cut. Personally, I already had the Desire for 4 months, and soon 5th month, and I seriously had not faced such problems before. Consider me lucky if you will, but if I do not have these problems yet, I don't think it's like "common" in all Desire like some of you said. Of course, you can say that I am having a "faulty" Desire, which somehow works better than the "normal" Desire.

I have not turned it on yet as I want to give it a 3 hour charge first.
My box does not say whether I have AMOLED or SLCD screen so how will I know which one I have? (and does it matter?)
ELIZABETH, 01 Nov 2010htc sense what does it mean?HTC Sense is the User Interface which HTC has placed over the standard Android UI.
Moni, BD, 01 Nov 2010Phone of the year 2010 is HTC Hero.
But HTC Desire is newer & faster one.No it's not
What Mobiles Phone of the Year 2010 is the Desire not the Hero announced at the weekend.
Had mine for 3 months no such problems,Amazing phone that will meet your needs I cant fault it. you could find examples of any phone going faulty, As your looking at thousands of units being shifted to say this is a black mark against the desire is over reaction ,
after almost 5 months, i didnt face much probs, but it freezes on 2.2, eventhough it was perfect on 2.1/ im waiting for a firmware update, which may work better. i have AMOLED screen, so battery doesnt last long , but is better. the only probs are that it is freezing and second, it is rebooting after freeze. i havent faced any 3g prob, im happy. my phone went to service centre, now it works better. the HTC guys told me that updating it to a newer firmware, if possible or reloading the whole 2.2 may work. so pray for me, it works as fast :)
Used for 3 months and my HTC Desire does not give me any problems yet... :)
ELIZABETH, 01 Nov 2010htc sense what does it mean?It means customizable 7 home screens & customizable sense (very similar to profiles in Nokia & Windows 7) included someothers extra features!
