Anonymous, 23 Oct 2010I love the HTC Desire and I know it can be updated to the new Froyo 2.2 OS. My question is aft... morethere is a bit of confusing.. i had desire with 2.1 just installed 2.2 (custom leedroid rom) the sense works exactly the same as before... then i checked the video there was a little difference like the applications were showing in 3D effect... later i found out that this is because the users are using DIFFERENT THEMES.. !!!
The froyo 2.2 with any custome rom comes with Sense UI.. u wont loose anything... (as i didnt) and ur right the themes they show in video are not quite good enuf in comparision to Sense UI...
dont worry and go ahead.. u wont loose ur Sense UI in any terms...(just dont try any themes they are not quite smooth as the sense it self !!)))

Anonymous, 24 Oct 2010desire or wave???which is better in terms of:
2. user interface
4. vide... moreI am although a happy user of Desire right now. but its because i like android OS...but at the same time im keeping my eyes on wave because its literally growing...
Super amoled no one can compare to it...
in short... in terms of sound and video samsung are best in mobiles... along with iphones offcourse....
i dont like the UI of any samsung (becasue they are all same)
but in short... if u buy Wave u;ll save alot of money... but u might regret of not having a desire.. becuase what i;ve read... Gingerbird might be landing on desire(since it completes all the requirement) but then again u dont care for the os nor the apps.. i suggest Wave.. 100%.. u;ll be satisfied customer..
desire or wave???which is better in terms of:
2. user interface

5. sound quality
7. value for money
...i am not considering OS and apps availability as of now....

Database giant Oracle has launched a legal action against Google, alleging that the company infringes seven patents it owns related to Java.
Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, was formerly a chief technical officer for Sun Microsystems. Sun Microsystems was bought by Oracle.
The move is interesting because when Sun Microsystems was a separate entity it promoted Java as an open source option.
Google never formally took out a licence from Sun Microsystems, while Java is widely used in a large number of applications created by other vendors. The law suit will cause other manufacturers to wonder whether Oracle will start a patent hunt against them.
The move prompted the Wall Street Journal to remind its readers that Larry Ellison, the CEO of Oracle, is a friend of Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple.
Apple considers Android to be a considerable threat to the iPhone and the Google OS continues to grow its market share as an OS for smartphones.
Java deal between IBM and Oracle is threatening to damage the Android

please tell me how to upgrade OS of HTC desire.. Android OS,v2.1(Eclair),to Android 2.2(Froyo)? I need help.
I love the HTC Desire and I know it can be updated to the new Froyo 2.2 OS. My question is after installing Froyo, can you have the option to run the Sense UI. Reason being is that I love the appearance of 2.1 OS, and I have seen some footage of Froyo and it isn't exactly to my liking. Also if it can be done, is it a relatively straight forward process? I mean ideally I do not want to have to "hack" or jump through hopps. I'm just wondering if HTC offer the Sense UI option along with the installation of Froyo?
The Desire Freak, 21 Oct 2010howz your desire battery life?I am running wifi whole day, with all the widgets (except for weather) ... its giving me a day and a half.... without wifi 2 days tops....
Currently using htc desire a8181. the phone hangs up automatically and a white screen with htc logo appears which stays.. it does not allow to shut down the phone...and have to unplug the battery and then replug it several times to make the phone working....how can i fix this problem ?
Wish Desire had at least 8GB Internal Memory, true HD video recording and a 1500 maH Battery , a la Samsung Galaxy S.
But then the Galaxy S doesn't have Sense UI, does it?
Guess u can't have everything...
