Hi I purchased a HTC Desire a couple of months ago,
can anyone tell me when I can upgrade to 2.2 and does anyone know when skype is coming to andorid apps.
I live in Queensland Australia thanks Billyg.PS I love this phone it does everything I want except no skype app
I'm one of those unlucky people who live down under in Australia. Its a great place to live, but we tend to get EVERYTHING LAST! In this case I don't have the 2.2 update, but I was wondering if one of the nice people out there on the net knew if the crazy touch screen issue was fixed?
(Also, does anyone know when the 2.2 update comes to Australia to unlocked handsets? I own an Asian model :-)

Major updates i.e. things come new after upgrading firmware to android 2.2 froyo we (Desire owners) have got;
* 720p (HD) video recording
* Flash lamp can be activated and used while recording
* Full Flash support on web browser (Adobe Flash 10.1)
* Wireless tethering (wi-fi hotspot) for using the phone's internet connection wirelessly with your PC/Laptop (Desire acts as wireless router) + wifi hotspot widget
* Applications can now be moved to sd-card (however currently not all apps in the market support this yet)
* Accelerometer is now working both clockwise and anti-clockwise (like iPhones do)

The idea is to transfer the bulk of data to SD card and spare space in internal memory.
The blackberry bold can't even hope to compete...seriously. Do yourself a favor and get an Android phone. I jumped ship to the G1 almost 2 years ago when launched and haven't had a desire for a BlackBerry since.
guys can anyone please tell me the price of the htc desire in india(delhi).............
please its imp. for me quick......
I think you should make a separate spec. page for the 2.2 update, it actually brings a lot more to the phone when discussing memory for apps, speed, video recording, adobe flash performance etc.

How can you move things to save to the SD card? I cant seem to do it. Im not sure where anything (pictures, apps) is saving. Its saying my phone memory is nearly full and i seem to have near full SD card space. Although surely I've downloaded way more apps than the 512mb internal memory could take?
