[deleted post]Hey Farzad, don't think about it. Dig it in for Desire. And forget the Legend. Not that legend is not good but for around 100bucks more (in my country) you get speed of 1gz, will-die-for screen of WVGA, more beautiful form factor (in my perspective) and lots more.
Speed is everything, go to the shop, ask them for a demo device and after you play with them a couple mn, you'll swear by the 1gz speed. And those screen is way much better than iphone-res of Legend. I don't think you would like to save 100$ and suffer these things for one or two years.
And the Wave just has a little bit brighter screen than Desire's. The OS is immature like Android and not as fully flexible and customizable like the current Android 2.1 on Desire.
And have you seen a peep on Android 2.2 yet? Soon it'll come to Desire. What more do you like to have than this...
Good luck, cheer....
I have configured it successfully. Initially, I had the problem in configuring it with username/password error. This is because I am trying to use the Wifi cinnection while configuring. Turn Off your wifi. Use the data connection from your local provider and also use imap settings for your yahoo mail. then it will work.

I just got my Desire today. First I would like the give a big thanks to all you guys with your useful and honest comments about the phone. The screen just knocked me out with its beauty and the speed blown me away. And Android rocks... This is it. Way much better than my previous 3gs and Milestone.
And anyway, it doesn't log in with my Yahoo Mail. It only does my Gmail. How do we make it allow the Email panel to log into my Yahoo Mail? Guys? Ladies? Please help me as my Yahoo Mail is my main mail address for work.
God bless you all

bought my desire few days ago...and m just loving every bit of it. And it is undoubtedly the best phone around. I agree the battery life is not up to the mark..but if you use the phone intelligently...u can save the battery as well. Some of the applications on the phone are just unbelievable.
Anonymous, 22 Jun 2010Hey ppl,, evry1 is sayin phone z Gud , fantastic....dats fine,, But,tell us d real points, ... moreYa true am using this phone, facing such kind of disturbance.....besides that everything is perfect.
Can someone tell me if i can use the LED flash i camcoder mode when im filmimg in the dark and if i can use the LED flash as a flashlight? Or if someone knows some app for this problem?
One additional 'bad point' on the desire: The 'screen lock' button is very badly positioned on the top of the phone - if you keep the phone in a pouch then you will be pressing it by accident whenever you push the phone into the pouch
The button itself however has a very good feel to it (as do the other buttons). It's just a shame because HTC put it in the wrong place
Had the HTC Desire for a few weeks
- Top build quality, feels like a luxury phone to me
- Beautiful screen
- Great internet browsing experience (fast, pinch etc)
- Very good audio quality
- Daylight visibility
- *Very* poor movie recording (cannot handle moving objects at all without very bad blurring), though the camera is OK for still images
- Movie playback disappointing and YouTube performance much worse than expected
- Phone application itself is poor: there is no confirmation dialog so if you press a previous incoming or outgoing call record by accident it will immediately dial the number!!!! Can be very inconvenient/embarassing
- Cannot customse many widget settings, instead need to delete and re-insert
- No built-in task manager (well, there's a weak one in the settings menu) and no easy way to see what apps are currently running. All the free task managers have forced-ads - they don't cost much to buy ad-free versions but why are we having to pay anyting for something that ought to be included in the OS?
- Ringer volume and button 'click' volume appear to be linked which is annoying
- navigating through settings is painful
- Too much personal info sent to Google
Concerning the bad points: battery will probably always be bad - phone seems to be running permanently in 'Turbo' mode. Wish it could go to a lower clock speed when it's not doing anything to save battery
Maybe movie recording and playback issues can be fixed in firmware?
Other usability issues are mainly Android rather than HTC Desire issues. Hoping Android v2.2 will fix some of these because a the moment it feels rather like using pre-beta software to me
The ongoing Google data collection is worrying... you can switch it off totally but then half the decent apps stop working
Overall a good phone but somewhat incomplete and with some significant frustrations. Perhaps the Froyo release will iron-out some of these
