just bought my brand spanking new desire from carphone warehouse on vodafone and heard that you could get free music downloads? was just wondering if anybody knew how i could get this. thanks in advance. juuuuusssssttttinnnn
I've had this phone for about a week now and i have to say i'm loving it for the most part. However there are some things that i'm finding very annoying and can't seem to get round.
The first thing i'm struggling with is the signal on the radio tuner it is very poor and seems to break up all the time, i used to use a sony t650i for the radio as my iphone didn't have one and the reception was so much better. Guessing there's not alot that can be done about that.
The main problem i have is with the intergration of third party apps, however this may just be me not setting it up correctly. I have installed a txt message app called handcent, which basically gives the txt message screen the same look as the iphone and also allows me to use mp3's as a message tone. The problem is i can't seem to set it as the only/main txt service, so every time i get a txt i recieve 2 notifications one from the htc txt and one from the 3rd party app. The exact same thing happens with the htc email service and the gmail app.
I know it's quite a small issue but it's becoming very annoying. If anyone could help me out with this it would be appreciated.
Also does anyone know if it is poss to delete some of the pre-installed apps i.e. teeter?
Any help would be great, cheers.
Does anyone knows why the Desire comes in 2 diff types of boxes? one is really plain and 1 is a box with the picture of the phone on the outside.
The HTC Desire is available in the UK at Phones 4 U on the Orange Network. Amazing IPhone killer!!

wondering 1-) if the screen surface is scratch-resistant, and 2-) if it is possible to see data usage log per selected source separately (wi-fi and 3G)..

Joearny, 13 Apr 2010Hi Guys!! I'm between HTC desire and iphone 3GS, I select some pros about both and it would b... morego with the htc desire... its great.... if u want more 4m htc thn kindly wait 4 the gsm version of htc evo 4g.. thats a monster !!!!!!
i have been waiting for your review of Desire for ages. why is it taking so long? for many other competing phones you released preview articles before they were released and for this you haven't had one article even after the phone has been released.
does ne one know if the desire is available in the uk???
or are HTC holding stock to build DESIRE for the phone
I'm between HTC desire and iphone 3GS, I select some pros about both and it would be great if you cold opine about it:
iphone 3GS pros:
- Huge amount of software available.
- Most accurate touch screen.
- Mature plataform (almost none bugs)
- Easy to unlock for other 3G networks.
- Comes with 32GB of memory.
HTC desire pros:
- Best overall hardware.
- Operational system adopted by various vendors.
- AMOLED screen.
- Flash and java support.
It seems to be the biggest pros when comparing one to the other, but maybe there are more!
As I can see the HTC one is "a promise" until now, it has everything to be great but it's not and I think the major reason is because of the small amount of softwares compared to iphone... (as I could read on the Internet)...
Do you think a new iphone 4G would apper to mess with HTC party? And this fone is MUCH better than NEXUS ONE?? (seems that the touch buttons on nexus are really sucks and the trackball too...)
Thank you guys, I hope you help me to decide... :)
