I've been using the Desire 820 for about 10 days now, and so far I've experienced zero issues, the device is fluid and works just great. Here's my short review for those looking to buy this phone.
For reference, I'm using the Desire 820 Dual SIM Santorini White model made in Taiwan.
Network: 3G/2G on airtel works great, download and upload speeds were good as expected, connection never dropped.
Body: One of the best looking phones I've ever seen. Plastic doesn't feel cheap. Feels premium. The phone is quite slim, and slippery. I'm using a transparent silicone cover for better grip.
Display: The display is not full HD and has fewer pixels per inch, but it looks surprisingly good and is bright enough to work even in direct sunlight.
Performance: Zero lags. Never hanged. HTC Sense UI is buttery smooth. Can handle high CPU/GPU loads. Lollipop update will be able to utilize the 64bit hardware much better.
Camera: Both front and rear cameras are extremely good outdoors, indoors they work just fine. Camera app has many good features and modes.
Sound: Front speakers are loud enough, but not too loud, have very good output and clarity.
Battery: The battery capacity and charging times are average at best, lasts 10 hours of normal usage. The chipset supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.
One of the better phones under 25k.
Future-proof hardware, great camera and speakers.
Go for it!
