I used a HTC hero before buying an iphone 4 which i have now. Android provides you great flexibility but it just is not as smooth as the iphone. It seems gr8 at first but as you install apps it keeps getting slower which is not the problem with iphone. But still i think android is better for me at least. In the end it all comes down to personal preference, and i think i prefer the android. But i think my mom or girlfriend would probably like an iphone coz android is too complicated for them. Also every good thing has an downside coz android is more prone to spam and the apps are not exactly trustworthy, they extract private info without even telling you. Check this Engadget article out
I guess with more flexibility you are more prone to things like this. It is kinda like Windows.
Plz people stop commenting on the battery before u actually use the phone.Let it launch and then read the gsmarena review. But the battery does really seem small.
These days even the smartphone with the best battery lasts for a max of 2 days on normal usage.
It sould have dual camera ? their is no suc option amazing , smart phone sould have at least this function
i have the htc HD desire already :) - battery life is excellent - 2days on normal usage as im not too much of a heavy user - surf the net now and then take few photos daily, make some callls everyday.
RECOMMENDED - MUCH BETTER THAN THE I PHONE 4
since skype would be available on android, hope that it would also have a front camera..
still hoping that white/orange htc desire hd would be made... a wish!

and 2 days is good? my 3 years old nokia e60 lasts 3-4 days and i'm not happy. what's the point of mobile phone if you can't be mobile and must charge it every day or after 2 days?
i am using desire and it lasts me 2 days with battery on a regular usage, but on heavy duty usage it lasts a day. no problemo...
All of you people assuming that the battery life will be short make me laugh!! Have you considered that the processor could be more power efficient?
Make some research before posting!!!
Hello everybody... I'm using HTC desire for almost 2 months. it s like a thrill ride. i was a nokia user all my life but now i am all htc. everything works like a charm. but... i am used on using fm transmitter on n97 and that is what i need from desire hd... but it is not on a list. ill wait for the next model hopefully it will have transmitter as well as the recever (can it be reversed? ;-p)
WOW only 1239 mha battery!!!! This won't last you even half a day worth of average use. This is a total failure.
I could honestly say that future owner of HD & Z will going to have a big issue with battery life...huge!
is it gonna be upgradeable to android 3.0 ( gingerbread )?
and what do you think, buy this phone or wait for xperia x12?
waiting for your reply guys

This phone is for Europe as I know. If you live in America, you have to buy the American version. I really like the specs too, HTC is just... AWESOME! :X They produce only smart phones, and they have experience. I am really happy for them.
By the way Android has spy ware! You can't really use the downloaded applications... If you will use, your personal infos will be shared with people you don't know. Guys this is REAL, Google it if you don't believe me. This thing is sad, but it will be changed.
