> In reply to 1984 @ 2010-09-16 15:02 from my2s - click to readYes except the milestone2 also uses a 45nm chip. And not only that but according to the benchmarks the 1ghz TI OMAP3600 series simply annihilates all the phones on the market. It is the most powerful processor on the market and its on the milestone2.

The milestone2 is also thinner, lighter and smaller but the same screen size. It has much more internal storage (8gb vs 1.5gb) than the desire z and since android doesn't let you run apps from a memory card thats a huge advantage. It has a bigger battery (1400mah vs 1300mah) and dual led flash. The milestone2 does do 720p recording. Check here
http://www.engadget.com/2010/0...-2-2-and-mo/

But above all it obliterates the competition in terms of cpu+gpu. Nothing comes close to it. Not even the hummingbird on the galaxy s.

So really I dont see a reason to get the desire z at all and thus i dont understand why it gets all the hype. Yet I hear nothing about the milestone2 which was announced ages ago.

For all the people who comment about the SLOWER!! 2nd generation 800 Mhz processor used in the Desire Z compared to the 1st generation 1 Ghz processor as used by numerous other smatphones,e.g HTC Desire. See the specifications below. It took me all of 1 minute to find this information!

http://www.qualcomm.com/produc...pdragon.html

http://www.techradar.com/news/...ained-147819

If you read the specs you can clearly see that the 2nd generation 800 Mhz processor has nearly twice as much graphical power as the 1st generation 1Ghz processor, it supports more video codecs and by using 45nm instead of 65nm process technology it should consume less power.

So please don't get sucked in by the numbers game that marketing people are so willing to quote to fool consumers. After all would prefer an Intel Pentium 4 3 Ghz processor or an Intel Core i7 2.66 Ghz processor for your PC ??

An ex processor (again, 800 Mhz isn't really a slow one) but a qwerty keyboard via android 2.2 with an S-LCD capacitive screen. A really tough competitor of course. Maybe absence of AMOLED screen is a negative but I'm expecting a quite well levelled price for this device actually. If you can't pay for a Desire or Desire HD, in HTC brand, that will be your absolute choice in deed.

Why would you want this phone when the milestone2 has a faster processor, more storage, duel led flash and is much smaller and lighter while it still has the same screen size.

That just doesn't make sense to me. The milestone2 was announced ages ago

Dezire Z is ok but needs the following to be a truly world class Buisness phone

1) Dual SIM
2) Stylus input in addition to Touch and QWERTY
3) QWERTY key pad can be bigger and better - Multi Colour key pad for better readibility
4) Build quality of a Blackberry Bold or better
5) 4.3 " AMOLED screen

These are the bear minimum if the weant to build the worlds best business phone ... potentital sales is about 5 - 6 Million of these in a year or more

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-08-21 14:40 from M3s@ - click to readDont worry about the battery. Just go into google and type in HTC Desire Z extended battery. With this you will only need to charge about once every three days. youtube shows video on "extended batteries." they add a little bit of bulge but are usually double the strength of the ones supplied witht the phone. i am going to buy one when i get my desire. I think this one will be too expensive. If one is not out yet, they will make one soon. Most people are not aware that extended batteries exist for smart phones.

now if this had a 4+ inch screen and no htc sense it would be ..... It seems like these companies love playing games. Making a phone with great battery life, a super amoled screen, front facing cam, the best processor out, a 8+mp camera with flash and hd video recording with a full qwerty keyboard is too much to ask?
