1) I used to have 1.66 singapore rom and its keyboard had chinese input option. Now I put energy rom and does not support chinese. Do you know any cab so that I can read & input chinese?
2) In my previous rom, I did not have this compact keyboard (not phone keypad). Is there anyway I can put this blackberry-style compact keyboard on 1.66 rom? I like this compact as it is fast & can be done one-handed. Thanks

ertug, 25 May 2010Have been using for almost two months now... I strongly and strongly NOT recommend the HD2. Wi... moreHD2 is for open minded person and willing to learn new things. Once you get the right custom ROM and Radio Version installed in your phone. You will appreciate it like no other specially if you are more into watching movies in your phone, playing games or surfing the nets. But if this are too complicated for you then you should buy a cheap simple phone. Remember, its not your phones fault that you don't understand him. Learn it to appreciate it.

Thanks to the low cost of the "BlackBerry Curve 8520"
Almost everyone now has a "blackberry" I too got one, just to get the unlimited data & voice on the same sim (that providers only give to bb costumes here) and I use it in this phone. Lol (no more dual sim card holder)
I now want a way to join the BBM crowed with my blackberry service but from my HD2 (give the BB to my wife)
how do i find skyfire and omarket to install them on my phone
Anthony, 31 May 2010which ever ROM the phone was unlocked with, that will be the ROM you will want updates for.or ... moreThanks Anthony. I sort of understand it!. You say you update it with what ever ROM that was used to unlock it with.....does that mean that if say i wanted it to be unlocked to say vodafone then the ROM's for vodafone are the ones used to update the phone???.....is that right?
at the moment i use an Nokia N900 which is unlocked from vodafone but the update did not state ROMs of any sort but i assume windows phones are different?... sorry as i said before i don't have a clue when it comes to windows phones.
ahmed, 31 May 2010hello my rom is 1.43 and original unlocked
and i bought in uk if i put serial numb... moreit will not ask you about SPL.
and the ROM will install if you used your SN to download it.
the only time you will see the word SPL (and its version #) is when your phone boots into the booth loader ( 4 colored bands screen)
don't worry about it, just know It's there and will keep you out of trouble till you learn more about what happens in the background of windows mobile and make the decision to get rid of SPL or not.
SPL is not a bad thing, you will only want to get rid of it if you want to use a ROM that was not intended to be used with your SN.

Yeah i like V4 as well, i also have the blue one which is suppose to be a glossy look but looks like you only half the colour when i add it to my theme, if it was the full colour it would be perfect. But i'm always searching so im 100% sure i will find what i'm looking for as i have with most of the things i've wanted for my phone. I do have a blue glossy theme at the mo, but without the button look. I'll do for now. I normally store alot of links in my PC, so if your after anything check with me & i'll see if i have it. :o)

Anthony, 30 May 2010if you use Facebook or google maps has address for tor country, you going to want your contact... moreHey Anthony. i have gone through the user manual. is there something else i can do to to improve the functionality. thanks
I flashed energy rom in my hd2 yesterday. Its my first cooked rom. The experience is so-so. Not the best nor the worst. I will use it for 1 week & see if this is keeper.
Positive: 1) Little eye candy 2) Compact keyboard (very handy for one-handed typing) 3) built in cookies home tab, document tab 4) stable & as for speed…..i think it’s the same as stock rom. 5) comes with latest FB, MS office etc 6)changes here & there ……takes time to get used to with.
Negative: 1) Standby battery is good but battery drains fast if you do sth. Even I type a couple of sms…battery level goes by 1-2% (disappointing). 2) I can not select china as my location 3) Keyboard has no support for chinese & I can not even use chinese-eng dictionary 4) touchX manager does not work (now working after downlaod) 5) old version of swype 6)comes with its own task mnger & regedit ….which is simply useless…need to install another 7) Messaging is mess (may be I need time to get used to with)
ahmed, 31 May 2010hello i bought this htc hd2 from uk
i need update rom from 1.66 and i choose uk web ... moreby the way if your phone came with 1.66 from UK, you already have the latest ROM. there is no newer one than 1.66 from htc, for your phone as yet. you would just be downloading the ROM you already have.
that update is there for people with older UK unlocked HD2's so they can have the version your phone came with.
ahmed, 31 May 2010hello i bought this htc hd2 from uk
i need update rom from 1.66 and i choose uk web ... moreif your phone came unlocked. and your SN did the download then that update is for your phone.
that is what the SN is used for. to verify that you are trying to download the correct ROM. even if you used a friends SN to download a different ROM type. the SPL in your phone would stop you from installing it.
and only hacking the SPL could get you around that.
