ThePrinceDaniels, 07 May 2010how does this device feel in your hand?Is it pocketable or no, cause it has rather big dimensi... moreIf you think this is too much or too complicated, you might as well wait for WP7, which is the iphone alternative.
With WP7, you don't have to worry about task manager = single tasking. That's good for the average Joe. lol
With WP7, Microsoft is trying to get a more stable phone by verifying 3rd party softwares through its own market, and by limiting what softwares can do!
With WP7, Microsoft is trying to get the "same user experience." Hence, WP7 will be less customizable.

It just depends which HD2 you are getting and how you got it = ROM version.
The stability issues are generally from 3rd party softwares, unclosed programs, or no reboot time for too long.
Hence, you will need to do your own testing on 3rd party softwares, to close unused programs (i.e. task managers), and to remember to reboot/refresh OS (which can be set to be done automatically).
The phone will not just fall in your hand and be your perfect phone.
With the HD2, you will also need to do A LOT of tweakings (initially) to your liking!!!
ThePrinceDaniels, 07 May 2010how does this device feel in your hand?Is it pocketable or no, cause it has rather big dimensi... moreIn term of size, it is not bad. The HD2 is not huge, but it is not small either. lol
It is a 4.3 inch screen. It is what it is! However, it is not heavy, and it is fairly thing.
It is pocketable in front jeans with the original slim battery. In fact, you won't notice that much difference if you had another smartphone (it's about 1cm wider than others).
If you are really concerned about the size of the phone, I would recommend you to look for another WM model. However, you will not get the 1GHz processor (e.g. Omnia II with 8/16GB internal storage).

Hello anthony do you know where can I get a Youtube downloader .cab and a French/English dictionary.
Thanks in advance.by the way im writing this with the amazing Swype.
I'm thinking of buying an HD2. This will be my first smarphone. Could someone answer the following questions for me?
1. If you are wearing a bluetooth headset and the phone rings with an incoming call do you hear the ringtone in the headset?
2. Can you create and edit Excel spreadsheets on the phone or is it read only?
3. If yes to (2), can you edit an Excel spreadsheet whilst you are actually connected on the phone?

That is why he said it’s not for rookies. If you just want to use a phone and don’t what to do the background work to keep it running smooth then it will not be worth it to you. And in that case you should get an iPhone.
i'm from saudia arbia. i've HD2 with US Rom.
How can I downlaod the SA ROM ?
please help me :(

The HD2 is a power WM device. If you are not sure what it is, start off with an Omnia II or X2.
I want to ask those who own an htc hd2.Is it worth buying it?I mean there are lots of people that are not satisfied, why?,because they say the device becomes a bit laggy after some time of use,so please inform me ...it's a major problem or not???
I have been using the HD2 since Dec last year. From day 1 its just WOW!! Simply superb! Its like a high end Plasma right in my hand!
1. The initial BIOS on the phone made it sluggish & would hang sometimes while attempting to make calls. Sms wouldnt get delivered AT ALL.
=> That was all fixed once i sent it back to Vodafone to fix, & they upgraded the BIOS. Now, its smooth as silk.
2. Ok, Windows as an OS isnt the best thing (Android would have been faster).
=> Since its Windows, its got seamless transition with my Windows Laptop.
Email works dam fine, camera is ok (Not the best) & Wifi/3G both work like a charm!
DivX movies - just copy paste and view ! Youtube FLV videos too !! (u need to install a free player!)
I disagree with the reviewer. I would like the reviewer just sit down and create a so powerful and useful element like the HD2. I totally disagree with the camera quality.
Sir, is a phone. As phone it works as expected. All the rest, is WinMo phone. I've got it and in 10 minutes it was fully usable like my one year old HD.
Let me ask you how many people used front cammera, or voice dialing (you are wrong, I DO have voice dialing in my HD2) or handwriting in a capacitive screen unit (it DOES have Transcriber in /Windows, and it works VERY well!)... Please try the device first, comment then. Thank you

I am doing the same work.

I've ordered the high cap battery to see what battery life I would get using that??? The only I wouldn't like is the added depth it will add.. I've really never used an extended battery before on a phone... Now I need to find a case for it????
Has anyone else ordered the extended battery??? What are your thoughts of the battery???????
Well I've been using Cell Series ROM for a couple of days now. I must say it's a rather nice ROM.. The ROM is skinned all the way through (with nice icons in all screens)..
Things I Like:
1.) I like the ability to cust the Theme with the cust tools built in..
2.) Battery life seems okay. It looses about 6% per hour in standby time (In heavy use you will get about 8 to 10 hours use??).. That's about the best I've seen so far?? I don't think U will get any better battery life using Sense and the hardware on this phone...
3.) It has some nice app's built in like "Voice Command and In Call Record".. I love the Voice Command app for calling... I didn't think the ROM had In Call Recording until I got a call and brought up the menu, and there it was (record call)...
4.) ROM is very smooth...
5.) Had it freeze on me once, but that was after I installed an App that I since removed..
6.) It comes with the App's U would use (bsb tweaks, cookie, clean RAM, pocket rar, phm regedit, pim backup, shake and save, voice command, ameba config, and midomi)....
Things I Do Not Like:
1.) The start Animation is nice, but I can do without that... That takes up storage space...
2.) Built in app's... I would like to install my own App's (like cookie.. If a new version comes out I cannot install it, because the old is built into the ROM)...
3.) You get the 576 MB of RAM, but after install you have about 151 MB left (total storage is 202.27 MB)... It seems all the new ROM's are taking up more space now.. The older ROM's had more space available....
In summary. I'll stick with this ROM for now.. I had been using the Energy ROM, but the Cell Series ROM to me is nicer (skinned all the way).. My main thing is battery life, and this ROM is doing okay so far.. Still need more time to play with it though.... Will report back again later.......
ahmed, 06 May 2010HI ANTONY.. give me link to download windows 7 scheme or sheii to make it on my hd2I agree with Anthony about WM7 (doesn't look good and limited ver WM6.X.X). But google LeSScro he has a WM7 theme for HD2.. It was okay, but I don't like WM7.. I'm happy with my customized HD2 that I did.. I have the glass look for icons, keyboard, slider, top and bottom bar, cookies icons, call hist, time, etc....
